What time is it? It's CRACKPLOT TIME!

So for a while now I've been kicking around the idea of a bar-wide crackplot in which pups get regressed back to childhood. Now, with the aid of cape_and_wizard_hat, I have a mechanism to make it happen.

The short version: Twilight and Trixie get into a contest to see who can cast a proper Age Spell, it goes awry, and various bar patrons, including themselves, are suddenly considerably younger than they were a moment ago. Hijinks Ensue.

A few specifics:

1. Only pups who are on the Milliways grounds at the moment the spell is cast will potentially be affected. Muns can, of course, Millitime and/or handwave the transformation as needed.


2. How far back the pup regresses is up to the mun, but it has to represent a significant change. No fair turning a 33-year-old into a 30-year-old, for example, unless that pup's body/abilities/whatever have dramatically changed in those three years.


3. [Edited for clarity] While the spell will affect every pup's body, whether a given pup's mind is affected as well is up to the mun. If you want your pup to be a child in mind and body, that's fine; if you want them to be an adult mind in a child's body, that's cool too.


4. The spell will only change you into a form you have had at some point in the past. Pups who were "born" as fully formed adults will therefore not be changed into children, because they never were children to begin with.


5. Everyone will be changed back to their normal selves at the conclusion of the plot. THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE.

Now, the question is: When should the plot start and how long should it last? I want to make sure everyone who wants to participate can do so, which means working around everymun's schedules. I'd like to have it happen sometime in the month of October and conclude before Halloween, but otherwise I am flexible like bendy straw. If you're interested, comment to say when you're available and we'll hash out a timeframe from there.

ETA: sdelmonte has floated the idea that the spell could also turn child pups into adults. Anyone interested in that?

I guess the only thing I'd really like is for the plot to maybe start on a weekend, because I have zero time to play anymore during weekdays.

Why only younger? All that temporal energy has to go somewhere! Long time ago, DC did a wacky Young Justice-based event where all the adult heroes became kids. And the kid heroes became adults. It gave the writers (mainly Peter David) a chance for cracky fun with the JLA, JSA, etc, but also let them explore what sorts of adults the teen heroes might be.

Never mind that nothing is going to upset a teen more than being 55!

Frankly, I would love a chance to have Kirk in his prime for just a few days.

PS, Trek fans: Kirk was de-aged in an episode of the Trek cartoon, which is not regarded as canon due to an edict by Roddenberry. But I count it, and it's all in a day's work for a Starfleet officer (also see under "Rascals").

This sounds like fantastic fun, but I have a question!

If I were to change adult!Sunshine's form into her 17-year-old self during this plot, would she then be 17-year-old Sunshine, embittered and self-medicating, or would she just be adult!Sunshine in her 17-year-old self's body?

Essentially, if this is going to change them into their former selves for a time, or just put them into their former selves' shape.

Good question! One I hadn't considered. But given what we saw of the spell in canon, I'm good with it being up to the mun.

I thought is was a fundamental element of all involuntary transformations: Your clothes change, unless it is funnier that they don't.
The classic example is a wizard polymorphed into a cat. All their clothes change, except for the large, floppy brimmed hat, from out and under which peers the new kitten.

I actually hadn't decided that. Part of me kinda just wanted to have bitty!Joshua be exactly as he was, because he swore like a sailor on one hand, but on the other hand was pretty quiet and very studious.

I'm still up in the air and could very easily be convinced one way or another, though.

October's a busy month for plots, it seems! I've got a small Halloween plot in the works as well, in the last week of October. Between that, and Gary's canon being set next month, I think only a couple of my pups will be able to do this.
