Milliways Second County Fair
Yo,
The mods have approved the County Fair to run for another year (thanks <3 ). It won't be until July, but I'm letting you all know now, in case anyone wants their pup to prepare in real time/plant seeds etc.
For anyone who missed last year's, the fair is an open to everyone social event in the back garden, with lots of different ways to participate. These include but are not limited to a horticultural show, games and stalls, and or taking part as a judge or helper. There may be other fair-related things I haven't thought of which you are welcome to suggest (and I will run past mods if necessary).
This is not a Milliscouts event but there are quite a few related badges.
There have been a few changes from last year so please read the instructions for whichever bit interests you :)
Horticultural show
- Categories have been simplified to Best Fruit, Best Vegetable, Best Art or Craft, Best Children's Drawing. This is because most categories had three or fewer entrants last time.
- Entries must not have your pup's name on IC i.e. written on their object (you post with your journal so the judges will know - in real life shows you would be given a number)
- You can enter a category more than once if you want but you won't win more than one prize. e.g. if you grew two different vegetables you could enter both.
No sign up is required. To take part all you need do is post your entries between the start of the fair (which will probably go up the weekend before the IC start on the 4th) and midnight GMT on Wednesday 7th. For an example of what an entry could look like see last year's fair here.
If you cannot post your entry that week because you are away or something you can send them to me beforehand and I will put them in.
Prizes will be judged by Bonnie (Charlotte) and a guest judge/s. Pups belonging to a judge can still enter but that judge's scoring will then be done by a d10 dice for that pup. (The d10 giveth and the d10 taketh away.) There are prizes for best and for other things like top overall score, most amusing/cracky entry and most effort.
Judges
If anyone wants to be a judge in a category please contact me here or guppymun on AIM. You MUST be free to score all the entries in your category on Thursday 8th July so I can post the prizes on the Friday. (This is to do with the way I have annual leave which I have coincided the fair with).
Scoring involves you marking each item out of ten. I then add it to the score I gave it out of ten, to make the judging fairer.
If another of your pups wants to enter the same category your judge will have to be replaced with the d10 for your own pup.
Stalls and games
If you want to run a stall or game please comment here so that others can see what you're doing. Just so we don't end up with five candyfloss stalls or something.

Unfair fair games or stalls
Go for it! Again please sign up here so we don't get five stalls with tin cans glued to the table. Please make it clear ooc when you put your game/stall up that it's rigged. Bonnie will not be policing the stalls but please act within common sense and steer clear of things that get people hurt.

Sunshine will definitely be doing a baked goods stall, probably focusing on pies.
Yrael will be up for contributing to the music, and may run a rigged ring-toss fair game or something similar. >___>
