Good evening Milliways,
With mod approval I am pleased to announce the 3rd Annual County Fair will take place on the week of 3rd July.
As in previous years there will be a number of ways you can take part, and everyone is invited to do so. For attending and for many of the categories there is no sign up required.
There will be an IC poster from Bonnie in due course. In the meantime, the proposed format is as follows:
Produce and craft competitions
This year there will be five categories:
#1 - Best Fruit
#2 - Best Vegetable
#3 - Best Craftwork or Art
#4 - Most Bizarre Object
#5 - Best Domesticated Animal
All items in the first four categories must be submitted anonymously (IC) and be the sole work of the pup. There are no separate children's categories this year as in previous years children have been more than capable of holding their own, but if your pup wishes they may put their age on the entry.
Entries for Most Bizarre Object must be an item created by the pup. It cannot be anything dangerous, (radioactive, explosive, drugs etc), unsuitable to be displayed in front of children (e.g. porn, a severed head) or alive.
Entries for Best Domesticated Animal can either be pups who are animals or animals owned by pups. They will only need to appear in front of the judges for a short period of time.
Judging panel to be confirmed.
Prizes IC include trophies in icon format, and if your pup is a member of the MilliScouts there are some related badges.
Stall Holders/attractions
If your pup wishes to run a market stall to sell their wares, or they wish to run a game, please register your interest below so that we don't end up with ten stalls the same. The games will not be policed but if you wish to run a crooked carnival game please indicate that it's crooked somewhere in the description.
NEW - Sports Day - sign up required
This year your pup can compete in one of the following:
#6 - Running race: No superpowers
#7 - Running race: With Superpowers
#8 - Tug of War
Rather than leave it to the old D20, the winners will be decided by a (quick) OOC mystery task I will set you, which you can time and then send me your score. It will not take you more than a couple of minutes, most likely.
For tug of war the winner will be the team with the average best score.
If you are visually impaired, dyslexic, or have reduced use of your hands you may be disadvantaged in the mystery task; either ping me and we'll work it out, or feel free to nominate a friend to do it for you.
NEW - RAFFLE - Prizes needed
This year there will be a raffle with proceeds to go to funding Life Support and the MilliScouts. And your pup will be able to win Fabulous Prizes!
There are two ways your pup can take part IC
- Purchase raffle tickets (each $1 2017 US currency or world/time equivalent)
- Donate a prize
Prizes must not be anything dangerous, (radioactive, explosive, drugs etc), significantly magical*, sexual, or alive. Alcohol is okay but cannot be won by an underage pup. If in doubt as to whether a prize is acceptable please ping me.
[*e.g. a simple charmed object like a remembrall would be okay, a wand would not be]
To donate a prize please comment below or speak to Bonnie IC
For your pup to purchase raffle tickets please comment below or speak to Bonnie IC and you will be assigned a number/numbers
I will draw the raffle at the end of the fair using a random number generator.
QUESTIONS? COMMENTS? PROBLEMS? PLEASE COMMENT BELOW OR PM ME.

Actually, this looks like a good excuse to give Xephos some mileage. I think he'll definitely have a stall set up to sell a bunch of the junk he digs out of the ground, or builds by mistake. Probably a lot of weapons, gems, and random garbage, mostly.

Stalls/attractions - the only reason to sign up is to avoid too many duplicate stalls, so the first few to sign up gets priority if, for example, eight people want to run a cake stall. So there isn't a deadline, indeed people have done spontaneous stalls the last two years, but it would be preferable if people could say what they are doing to help others.
Raffle Prizes - please submit ASAP, so that they can be advertised to sell raffle tickets, but at very least before 1st July if possible.
Raffle Tickets - if you do not tell me by results day (Friday of Fair week) what your pup has bought you will not be in the raffle.
Sports - running - sign up required by 1st July so I can give you the mystery ooc challenge.
- If you wish to submit a team for the tug of war please let me know ASAP, or at the latest 26th June, so that I know how many rounds we will have.
Does that help?

If there are no more rival teams you'll be pitted against two of mine :)

No, you do not need to sign up for this, just make sure to tag into the fair post before judging time.
(I will post more details about this when I get a chance, but basically you just need to fill in a description and you can include a picture if you wish)

Not an overtly crooked game, but hard to win reliably. :)
---------------
Young Rae would like to donate a prize to the raffle - a set of six volumes of Vampire Tales and Other Eerie Matters, a series of spooky and sensationally scary short stories for kids and young adults. She would also like a ticket for the raffle.
