I awoke this morn' certain that I would wed Lord Benedick and my cousin would marry Lord Claudio. I dressed for my wedding at walked into the sun...

I stood before my lord at the altar and looked into his eyes. And I spoke unto the friar and asked him to hold.

My lord Benedick, you know me well and we are friends. I find I must speak to you now, 'else we make greater fools of ourselves than we have already. We are friends, milord, but we are not more. We have been coerced into this marriage by those who love us well, but know not our hearts. My lord, I would not wish a marriage without love on my deepest enemy, why, then, should I wish it on my dearest friend? Good friend, speak true, dost thou, in thy heart and soul, love me above all others? We have betwixt us affection, but there is not more. Wilt thou not give us both the freedom to live else?

He stared at me and he laughed.

And he kissed me and we walked away from the altar together.

As for my cousin, she today wed her Florentine Lord, my her days be blessed with comfort and joy.
