From the Saphie, to the All of You.
Yep, folks, this is a Milliversary post.
About two years ago, almost to the day, two red-headed twins poofled into the bar as played by Andy and I. Ron Weasley followed, and so did many others: Rob Anybody, Walt Lloyd, Virginia Lewis, Seamus Harper, the list goes on.
Andy continued on with Hermione Granger, Smeagol, Sarah Crewe, and a few more of her own.
Two whole damn years.
I know I haven't been really active lately, but work and school's been eating my head, and I think I'm starting to move on, to other RPs that I'm running and playing in, and then on to other things. I'm getting to a point where I want to focus entirely on my school and career and spend all my RPing time using all the wonderful things I've learned from RPing at Millys (and I learned so many) to write things of my own. One by one my characters are being retired, and I think I have maybe another year here left until I retire my last one and say my last goodbye.
But even when I do go, I will never forget what this place has taught me. You guys have been more than fellow RPers, you've been buddies, people who talked me through some tough times and had me laughing when I needed it the most. You taught me how friendship should be, both OOC and in writing, and were my sounding board when I wanted to learn how to make people laugh, how to make them sad, just by words clicked out on a keyboard.
But above all, you taught me the most important thing, something that was fueled by tutued squids and purple spandex, sock puppets and spinal nectar, bondage dolls and Tofu Beasts:
You taught me how to bring on the Crack.
For this, I will be ever greatful. So thank you mods, for setting up one of my favorite sandboxes I have ever played in (even including the fisher price one with a car-track on the lid I had when I was three), and thank you, players, for everything, and I mean everything, including singing breasts, and thank you, readers, who told me things like "I love your Ron! My wife said 'That's it! That's him!' when she read it," and "OMG, Fred and George's death made me cry," and "I love to hate Gaston! I want to hit him with a two-by-four!" and who also told me what I needed to fix.
I know Andy certainly feels the same.
Here's to two years, and even though I'll be more and more distant during it, here's to one or two more.
To channel Ron a bit: Bloody hell, I love you lot.
...No, it's just some bit of rubbish in my eyes, shut up. Tossers.
And for old times sake:
Gosh, it disturbs me to see myself go
Looking to moving on out
Ev'ry time I start to think about it, though
It makes me break into a pout
There's no place I've loved more than this place to play
It's everyone's favorite bar
Ev'ryone here's filled me with laughter and yay
And the crack, oh it's gone, way too faaaar (But that's great).
Nooo plaaaace is fun as the bar~
Has as much rum as the bar (unless you're Jack Sparrow)
No place is as incredibly totally not-glum as the bar!
For there's no place in the multiverse as awesome
Perfect, a great getaway!
In fact, you could say it is jawsome!
Even ask Nyarlohotep, that's what he'd totally say!
Give five "Fuckin' Milliways!"
Give twelve "Defy-ka's!"
Milliways is the best
And the rest is all bourgeois!
No place cheats like the bar
Has hot petites like the bar
In a crack contest no one has the most teets as the bar!
For there's no place as sluttastic and plotty!
As you see it's got pimping to spare!
Every mun's gone batshit and dotty!
(That's right!)
And ev'ry male pup in it has fantastic hair!
No plaaace rocks like the bar!
Or has killer socks like the bar!
No place's got lotsa swell chills and weird shocks like the bar!
As a hang out, yes, it's cracktastical!
My what a place: Milliways Bar!
