The dreamers encounter a city which creeps them out. A parade with a freaky hierophant shows up as well as a crystal sword (canon in two places, wooo!). The hierophant is unmasked as Nyarlathotep (spelled at least five diffent ways over the course of this, go us!).
The result is that Liz gets a little explody, causing much trauma and introducing the Dove. No, Kitten doesn't eat it. That would be Bad. Then its Peter's turn to be an idiot (and y'all thought that was Morpheus' prerogative!). Moiraine becomes very Aes Sedai, Will gets all Old One, and Peter gets pissed off.
Now for what I shall term "The Step From Hell" due to it being five steps IN a step. First they can't go around the tower, so they have to go in. Peter beats himself up trying to go around anyway. Dove is Not Amused, as she was in his pocket.
Step 7 part 1: insecurities. Will fears being apart from humanity, Peter feels like the ugly duckling *pets Peter*, and Moiraine fears losing Saidar. Nyarlathotep, sweetie that he is, combines them into one Uber-nightmare. Moiraine shakes out of it first, and proceeds to shake Will. Dove decides Peter needs to be henpecked.
Step 7 part 2: fears about or for the world. Everybody dreams of the Apocalypse. Anthy makes a cameo with her very own army. Morpheus gets royally pissed off, and attacks Nyarlathotep. A lot.. Dove commits self-wing damage. Moiraine tries to help Morpheus, it works. Peter finally conquers the nightmare he's been having since GoF, and they move one.
Step 7 part 3: fears for friends or fears about enemies. Whee! Confusing step! Will dreams about his family thinking he's nuts and him having to abandon them to save the world. Moiraine dreams about Rand selling all the Aes Sedai into slavery. Peter dreams about Tonks (inadvertently!) delivering him to the Dementors. Nyarlathotep sends his Pet in to draw the nightmares together as he's a bit pre-occupied with not getting killed. Enter Zombi!Liz. Moiraine and Will are like "Dude...what?" at false!cheer!Liz, and she then stops the dream. Peter's turn to go "buzh?" and he decides that "Will! Moiraine! That's not Liz! It's Nyarlathotep's creature! It's the Bride of Shadow! It's ANTHY!" Heh. Will says the Old One equivalent of "Shove off, bitch, you ain't our Liz" and in return Zombi!Liz gets her snark on. Moiraine makes a mistake. Dove suffers. Peter tells Zombi!Liz to go away. Both aspects and Dove have reactions. Will is all Old One-ish again. Peter is smart. Everyone is happy. They move on, again.
Step 7 part 4: irrational terrors. Moiraine gets highly embarrassed by see-through clothing. Liz has a highly complicated nightmare which involves: 1811, abandonment, 1811, Todd, Desire, Scotch, Todd, Desire, Bartleby and Bartleby. Peter dreams of being chased. Will dreams of being in Tethys's realm. Morpheus fast-forwards them out of there.
Step 7 part 5: fundamental fears about self. This one went fast. Yay! Moiraine fears that she causes the great war, and gets over it. Liz simply refuses to succumb to the Outer Dark. Peter makes peace with his childhood. Will faces the thought of losing his status as Old One, and dismisses it.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeee.
FINALLY they get to Dream. The Kitten does a small ritual, the end of which is each person explaining why they are there.
Everybody makes me cry. A lot. They all come up with memories of Morpheus, and inform the guardian that they're here for him.
Dream then sends them home.
Stuff happens in Moiraine's room. That's still going on. Rar.
