This is more of a poll actually, but with the advent of new puppets and the re-arrival of old puppets, It got me to thinking.

One of the things that we do at Milliways is combine universes in ways that thet authors wouldn't have thought of. We don't change them, because that would be bad, but we find ways that we can fit different 'verses together.

This is done exceedingly well with quite alot of people. Like I can no longer think of James Bond without thinking of (by proxy) Doctor Who, Dog Soldiers, and the Buffy the vampire slayer series. I'm sure Ian Fleming never intended James Bond to be associated with a teenage vampire slayer, a bunch of werewolves, and a guy who rides around in a phone booth.

It goes into the idea of milliways OTPs I suppose, pairings that cross fictional verses to get here.

So what's your favorite crossover? What universes do you love to see collide together? What would you like to see cross?

Srsly? I don't know. Part of the pleasure of a good Millicrosover is the surprise that these two universes work so well together. For example, even though the above not-serious comment demonstrates how often popular British canons (from the 60's) bleed into each other, I was pleasantly surprised to find out how well James Bond and Doctor Who meshed to create James/Sarah. There were elements of Bond's character that made him similar to the regenerations Sarah Jane was used to, although, thankfully, he isn't fond of velvet or mismatched clothes.

There are definitely canons I'd love to see crossed over in fic, but in Milliways, I'd like to be surprised. ;)

The first one that comes to mind for me is Yrael and Axel's worlds, really good Fantasy and a Disney video game, not what you'd expect but it works so well.

Also the trio of Sam Linnifer, Atton Rand and Guppy Sandhu, thinking of unusual British combinations and also Mel, Steph and everyone from Avatar but in particular the angst of Zuko and the sweetness of Katara.

I don't really have any wishes of canon mixes since for me I never know which pups will click and just like watching what happens next.

Surprise is part of the fun. Even if it's a cracky crossover (Like inna thread I got into my head Transformers/Dog Soldiers)

And Doctor Who and Bond DO work well together. You're absolutely right. (And this is someone who's only seen Torchwood talking.)

Thanks to Milliways, I can no longer think about Rent without thinking about CSI, Firefly without Heroes, Yrael without Axel, Arianrhod without Rabastan, Tom without Door, Guppy, Atton, & Sam without each other, & a plethora of other strange things.

Milliways also brought about the end of my very first OTP thanks to Di & me messing around with our pups, but that made me realize just how well Lunar & Harry Potter can cross over.

I still get a kick out of thinking, "What if Ghaleon really is some sort of evolved Veela & how much would that screw with people's minds?" XD

Young Wizards and 24 aren't really crossed -- I mean, they're seperate canons -- but they're inextricably linked in my mind. :D

I can't watch Firefly any more without babbling about a zillion Dark Tower references (which thoroughly confuses my friends. "Charyou tree? What?"). And I always feel like I'm playing "Spot the Rider!" when I watch Pirates of the Caribbean.

One of the great things about Milliways is that I've gotten hyper-aware of parallels and resonances between canons, whether or not they're crossed over in bar -- heck, whether or not they're even represented in bar (I spend a lot of time when reading Wheel of Time going "HEREWISS," but most likely there aren't many people here who understand that reference). And that is fun.

I keep finding other possible crossovers. Lately, I've been reading Diana Wynne Jones's The Homeward Bounders, inspired by walksthebounds, and thinking of how interesting it might be if people from the HB multiverse were able to speak with characters from Pullman's Dark Materials.

We also had HP/Still Life with Woodpecker at least with Bernard and Tonks. HP seems to work well with a couple of verses. Like Neverwhere, Books of Magic, Wheel of Time, DiR....

Also of course, it's hard to think of GB without Danny Phantom, Sixth Sense, and MiB.

And DiR with YW.

And yes, Heroes seems to mix well with Firefly surprisingly. Also Heroes/Supernatural.

And the FF/DT Academy Plot, whee.

Ah, the joys of panfandom gaming. One of the all time high points in my RP life was having the Frank Castle - the Punisher - sit down for a long gab session with the Chesire Cat.

I don't really have any Milliways OTPs of yet, but I sure do love seeing various universes collide. I have it now firmly in my mind that paratroopers from Easy Company and Josiah Scurlock should get drunk together, thanks to Milliways.

I second the "CSI without RENT", "Firefly without Heroes" and "Ghostbusters without Danny Phantom, Men in Black and Sixth Sense". Especially with Matilda added to that last grouping. The relationship between Mary Lennox and Gabriel Tam is also great love.

Also, I am now in love with Danny Phantom/ReBoot. I swear, I completely did not see the parallels between Danielle and Bob and Dani and Little Enzo until Dani and Enzo met in the Bar.

I honestly can't think of Horatio Hornblower or Pirates of the Caribbean or Dark is Rising without connecting them all together. They're just too well blended.

Usually I connect them all when I think of Sawyer, for various reasons.

Also when I think of Simpson, but that's just because I have a headvoice remarking on how useful a tool he was.

I would love, love, LOVE to cross over the Buffyverse and the Supernatural!verse. I'm not sure it can be done now that the Buffyverse has crossed over so many other things, though perhaps, since we've still got at least two Buffyverses here.

I admit to some selfishness, as I've got a Buffyverse character that I might app who I would love to thread with the Winchesters.

Hmmm. I haven't seen far enough to SPN vampires yet. Could they be a variant? We've already, I think, seen werewolves in Buffyverse work two different ways, and we've seen that there are vamps like the Master, and those ubervamps, so... *ponders variants*

Don't mind me, I just want Justine Cooper, vampire hunter, to run into Sam and Dean somehow.

Dude, the Transformers fandom is its own multiverse, with its own canon cross-over: Transformers Universe. [There was a sorta cross-over in the Marvel books where an Optimus Prime from one universe was brought into the Marvel-verse. I think.]

Courtesy of Unicron, Transformers from the various known continuities were brought together and duked it out inside the Planet Eater.

Heck, Transformers has had cross-overs with GI Joe several times before.

Anyways...

Cross-over I want to see/think should be done: Transformers and ReBoot. Not only did Mainframe make both the ReBoot series plus the Beast Wars/Beast Machines series, a technological race of giant transforming robots meeting and greeting a race of digital lifeforms would be the best thing ever.
