Summarising makes the baby Liz-mun cry.
I realise I haven't summarised a thread in some time. Apologies for that. My work schedule has been insane lately, so I haven't been around as much, and when I am, I'd rather be RPing than summarising. But, as I have both some time and a Threadzilla on my hands, a summary seems to be in order, much as trying to sort out the tangled continuities makes my brain weep. Granted, I could have summarised by continuity, but I'm stubborn, and wanted to see if I could possibly make this into one giant continuity. Yes, I'm also certifiable. Why do you ask? My apologies for this not being up sooner. I couldn't get it quite finished before I had to leave to work for 24 hours. Told you my work schedule was insane.
Liz enters from the House of Arch. Peter comes in not long after (from separate chambers, folks, separate chambers). He has a surprise for Liz. Before he can tell her about it, however, Bernard strolls over, being the dutiful barman. Liz and Peter are pleased to see him, and each have their own questions for him, but he promptly vanishes, as his mun was ill. (Hope you're feeling better, by the way!) Before Liz and Peter can return to the topic of Peter's surprise, however, they are interrupted again. This is where matters get sticky.
Moiraine stops by to say hello. Liz and Moiraine discuss Liz's improved mood, and her adaptation to the link with Morpheus. Moiraine compliments the ring Liz created for Peter. Liz makes reference to the handkerchief that was less successful. Moiraine is curious. Liz demonstrates. Moiraine is suitably amused and horrified. Liz evilly offers to give the handkerchief to the Aes Sedai. Moiraine declines, suggesting that Meg might appreciate the handkerchief. Liz does not know Meg. Moiraine points her out, and mentions that Meg's wrists had been wounded. Liz vanishes the handkerchief, and asks about Meg's injuries.
Will joins the conversation at this point, too late to see the ugly handkerchief again, but in time to hear Moiraine finger Todd and Paul as the culprits behind Meg's injury. Liz and Will are unsurprised by this, but are shocked to learn that Todd has tried to gain Power through Anthy. Horrified is probably the better word. Will and Moiraine are frowny-faced regarding Anthy, but Liz says that Anthy is a friend to her, and she won't give up on the other girl. Will and Moiraine both hope the belief is well-founded. Liz is determined that Todd will not bother her again, nor anyone she loves. Peter chimes in with his two cents -- Paul is twisted, yes, but is to be pitied all the same. Will still won't trust him. Liz agrees, and says she does not fear either King creation, Paul even less so, because he is at least honest about what he is. Will and Peter agree. Moiraine just thinks, "Bzuh?"
Liz, Will, and Moiraine continue chatting as Peter turns to greet Anakin Skywalker, who has just joined the party. Introductions are made, and while Will and Moiraine talk in a conversation that is unthreaded but which Liz-mun declares existed for the sake of continuity and sanity preservation, Liz and Peter chat with Anakin. Compliments are exchanged, and Liz learns that Anakin and Peter share some similarities. She's thinking prosthetic right hands, Peter's thinking preference in women. Liz and Peter are schmoopy. Anakin teases. Liz is sappy. Anakin teases more. Liz decides she likes Anakin, and teases right back. Further teasing turns into a serious conversation about Jedi and the differences between their worlds. Peter asks Anakin to talk about his own world. Anakin obliges, but omits his own role in its history. Liz notices and inquires. Peter, symphathising with Anakin, has a 'whoa shit' moment, and intervenes. There is a tacit offer of childbearing from Anakin to Peter. Liz is oblivious. Disaster is averted.
Liz-mun declares that it is at this point in the continuity that Peter detaches himself from the conversation with Liz and Anakin, recollecting that he needs to talk to Moiraine (who has been declared to be over with Will). Peter mentions that he saw Mat last night, and that the man would make a fine newt. Liz is confused, and her mun panicks for her other character. Moiraine does her best impression of a boulder. Peter gets determined. Liz wibbles. There is reference to a cockroach-shaped Mat. Liz/Mat-mun wibbles. Moiraine points out that might not be a good idea. Peter and Moiraine both don't mention Mat's medallion. They do agree that Peter's magic is not entirely unlike the One Power, which segues into a brief conversation about Darkness calling to Shadow, and Peter being quite the Pollyanna. At some point during all of this, Will has silently excused himself.
With Peter gone, Liz and Anakin resume the previous topic of Anakin's mechanical hand. Anakin confuses Liz, and Liz learns that Anakin is dead. Anakin mentions Luke directly, and Liz expresses an interest in knowing him. (She'll also likely follow up on that if given the chance. Consider yourself warned, Luke-mun.) By now, Will has left Peter and Moiraine to their conversation, and come over to Liz and Anakin. Liz introduces the two, and stands by to allow them to chat. It's awkward. Will is suspicious. Anakin knows this. There is some stilted exchange, then Will hits paydirt by inquiring about Luke. Anakin lights up, and talks more freely. Will is amazingly clueless about Star Wars. Peter, who is done talking with Moiraine, rejoins the group in time to explain Jedi. Will is impressed. The conversation is allegedly paused until later. For continuity purposes, Liz-mun is saying that Will and Peter continue talking for a time while Liz continues hanging out nearby.
With the others distracted, Moiraine, who has accompanied Peter back to the rest of the group, engages Anakin in conversation. Moiraine is clever, and thinks Anakin looks like someone she knows, named Luke. A pleased Anakin points out that of course Luke is his son. Moiraine tries to be complimentary, but pains Anakin. Moiraine goes Aes Sedai, then asks Anakin how he knows Peter. Upon learning that the two men are similar, Moiraine does the saidar proby thingy, and Anakin is properly disturbed. Moiraine wishes him well, and assures him that it is possible to be redeemed. Will has at this point been ousted from conversation with Peter, because Liz and Peter still haven't finished their conversation from earlier (more on that later), and comes over to join Anakin and Moiraine. Moiraine re-introduces Will as a colleague of hers. This time, the conversation goes much more smoothly between Will and Anakin. The three have a very deep conversation about fighting the Dark and redemption. It all sounds rather explicitly evangelical. Will and Moiraine are supportive, and Peter lends his own two cents of conviction in Anakin. That former-evil support group really needs to be founded.
Will goes and does Old One-type things somewhere, Anakin presumably retires, and Moiraine goes to be fluffy with Dream, as Liz and Peter (get this) actually get to finish the conversation they started nearly 200 comments before! Whoa! Liz learns Peter's surprise: he's managed to get the intertemporal mail system working. Liz is horribly confused by his rather complicated explanation of how it works, but is properly proud of her clever fiance. She raises an excellent point, though -- how in the hell are they going to explain it to her family? The Bennets aren't exactly magical folk. Peter of course has an answer, and Liz gets remarkably woobie. Peter also has a plan for Liz to share her holidays with him and her family: Desire will simply be her escort, since it can manipulate time easily. Liz has a sense of foreboding, and advises Peter not to mention a Mr Willard to the Endless. Peter is vaguely amused and more than vaguely interested. Liz explains. Peter is stunned. Liz explains more. Peter is very sweetly reassuring. Liz is pained by the memories of her family and friends' reactions. Peter is outraged on her behalf, and concerned that the Bennets won't accept his intentions. Liz reassures him that her family will likely be more concerned for his benefit than her own. The conversation turns financial, the details of which will not be related here, because it'll all come up in a later thread, as Peter and Liz decide to table the discussion for the time being in favour of sleep. They retire to the House of Arch. Their separate quarters in the House of Arch. Don't go there.
And so, several hundred comments later, Liz-mun thinks that Will-mun was right. Milliways doesn't simply twist continuity. It makes bowties and origami of it. *sends continuity-crane wafting through the bar* But it's all in one continuity, dammit. And thusly I say, yea verily, I am good.
