Whoops! Retcon Alert!
I've recently discovered new Mass Effect canon material that explained naming conventions for Tali's species...and I realized that I got them completely wrong. If Tali's told your character about how quarian names work, well, disregard whatever I had her say and pretend she said the right thing.
This is what Tali's name actually means:
Tali'Zorah nar Rayya = Tali of clan Zorah, child of Rayya, the ship she was born and raised on.
When Tali completes her Pilgrimage and joins the crew of a new ship, she will be:
Tali'Zorah vas [Insert Name of Ship Here] = Tali of clan Zorah, crew member of [Insert Name of Ship Here], which she joined after completing her Pilgrimage.
