Paging Charlie and Bernard.

Oi, [livejournal.com profile] 2ndtour_finland! You want we should plot? Or shall we just make it up? I'm happy to go for either.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] the_woodpecker, same to you. You want we should plot? Bartleby's re-ensconced himself in the staff quarters (I'm hoping that's not godding you - he asked the bar for the keys to a room and got provided with what turned out to be his old keys) and is looking pretty cosy. A shake-up would be good for him.

Comment here, or, if you're the discreet type, email me: kenovay @ supanet.com

Oi--wotcher, Bartleby?

I'd love to plot but I don't want to step on anyone's toes with anything at this point. Email's fine: minorblue (at) gmail (dot) com, or AIM: JennaExeter. Or here. I'm easy and it's Sunday :)

Like I menioned in the mun-lj I've been doing some research, and it's about reached the time for his symptoms to come to a peak. Will you be on later this afternoon/evening? It won't be pretty.

(And so you have a better idea of who you're getting: face icon. I like the beard, myself.)

You have my deepest sympathies. I remember college . . .

It can wait until tomorrow--we'll just call it Milli-time. We're about seven hours apart--it's almost 3 p.m. here. Yikes. I'll get on as early as I can tormorrow and we'll see what we can figure out.

It'll give me enough time to watch 'Dogma' again :).

I'll be at work then but I can get onto LJ there. Email (the gmail address) will be the best way to reach me: I try not to do non-business IM'ing while I'm there.

As far as plot goes, OH TEH ANGST! Let me know if you've got anything specific (though I see Loki is coming back and that is a huge wrinkle. Fun!)

Well, it is godding me a tiny bit, but I'll live.

I don't know how to work this, frankly. I can't see Bernard being willing to have Bartleby working. And if Bernard doesn't want him working, the bar will go with him. I have been thinking and thinking, and I don't know how to reconcile this.

What I know is basically from research and what his show will have in the coming weeks (it's called "Lost" and it just started a few weeks ago and it has the Dominic Monaghan fangirls, of which I am one *g*, all in a tizzy). I have a list of withdrawl symptoms that I'm working from, basically: at the moment I see Charlie turning to Bartleby for help through the worst of it, the pain and the nausea and the insomnia and so on, and whatever comes from that, comes.

Good starting point?

It's funny. It's a physical link, in that if one gets hurt, the other is affected. It's also a mental/emotional link, in that if Bernard is upset at or hates someone in the bar, the bar serves them odd/ugly/nasty things. But the bar is capricious on her own, and if she's feeling tricksy, Bernard gets some bleedover. This is all Milli-canon from when Sirius was laid up after you left. The bar was stolen and went to France and Sirius babbled in French. The bar was malfunctioning and producing only margaritas, and Sirius was more than a little drunk all the time. Sirius hated Tom Riddle, and so the bar will never serve him hot tea, only lukewarm.

Does that make sense?

You don't need to backtrack, no. I'm just concerned about how this is going to play out in the end. Bernard isn't very... nice, really. He's clannish. Milliways is his home, and he's rather passionate about his friends. Like Ingress. He'll be friendly enough with Bartleby until he learns abou the past. He'd consider giving him his old job back if he didn't know about the past, but if he did... :( Woe.

Is this making any sense at all?

H/C? Hurt/Comfort? Hee. Yes indeed.

One more question: would this take place in Milliways proper or one of our journals?

[identity profile] tropes.livejournal.com 2004-10-03 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's interesting. So, Bernard could pick up her good will and be disposed to be ok with him.

I like that idea.

But would the bar still like him after his violent outburst?

[identity profile] tropes.livejournal.com 2004-10-03 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay. We'll go with that.

Let's see how it all shakes out then. I predict that Bernard will be wary but okay as long as he doesn't know. But it's only a matter of time before he finds out, and as we all know, he's a little tense right now. He's confrontational, and he has a bloody huge ego. Arg.

All right. I'll be in and out of LJ all day tomorrow so if you'll email me or post that Bartleby's on I'll get it started.

Excited! :D

Also, I think she picked up Sirius' idea that Regulus needs to eat, because she frequently gives him unasked-for muffins.

Well, that's one I haven't heard before. XD
