Oh, it was ridonkulous; I haven't fallen that spectacularly in years. One second I was upright, the next, I was staring at the night sky, seeing stars in Technicolor. My glasses flew off my face, my iPod skittered a few yards across the ice, my work keys + Hello Kitty keychain went the other way, and my gym bag fell open to dump out my work flats and my bra (I had changed into a sports one to work out, laaa).
I seriously can't imagine what it looked like, it happened so fast; I had to've gone cartoonishly horizontal or something. Four people came over to help, but couldn't get too close, because I was smack in the middle of a pool of black ice. One guy was so sweet, he was cracking me up: "Do you know your name? What year is it? Do you know that Obama's president?" And the girl who braved the ice to duck-walk over was adorable, and told me that she'd taken a similar spill that morning just a few feet away.
ANYWAY. I was definitely sore for a few days, but man, was I ever lucky I landed like I did, and didn't crack my tailbone. I don't even want to know what that kind of pain is like.
Bwah, I know the feeling! I'm basking in today's surprise!sunlight coming in through my window right now, just waiting for more clouds to roll in.
