How was everyone's weekend? Anyone go see any good movies?

(I saw 'Your Highness'. It was...well. I don't know what happened that made me deserve that movie, but I apologize. xD)

My weekend was pretty damn good! (well, aside from having to spend several hours on Saturday trying to de-infect my laptop. That wasn't fun. D: ) Today was crap, and I'm thinking of taking a mental health day tomorrow, depending on how I sleep/state of mind tomorrow morning.

And I saw Sucker Punch and, despite myself, utterly loved it. But I can see why people might hate it, though *g* Tempted to throw Blondie into MM, once I decide which version. (Oh, Blondie, bb, DDDDDDDDDDDDDD:)

What's 'Your Highness'? I've never heard of it.

I had a pretty good weekend. Got lots of housework done yesterday that hasn't been over written despite have three kids rampage through in the evening. And Saturday was nice as my family had a screen time blackout so we had to entertain each other.

As for movies, I saw Whisper of the Heart which was pretty good up until the end where the two kids who aren't even in High School yet wonder if they'll get married. Wait WHAT? It was a bit jarring but everything before that was great.

ETA: I should note that Whisper of the Heart is an old Studio Ghibli movie and not in the theaters. = D

Weekends are never long enough. Was a pretty good one, though. Got some more Passover prep done, got a haircut, got to watch the fairly exciting end to the Masters golf tourney, bought my first stand-alone MP3 player.

Was a bit frustrated, though, in that I need an MP3 player because the headphone attachment on my cellphone is giving out (again) and AT&T seems to not care. (Apparently, they don't do repairs, not that it would be worth the cost.) If you want an all in one non-smart phone with MP3 player, don't get the Sony Ericsson W518a. Was also frustrated by the lack of response to yet another EP. About 2/3rds of my EPs go untagged of late.

Can't remember the last movie I saw. Probably Tangled on the big screen. Been watching a lot of TV through Netflix, though. Am now on season 3 of Dexter. Good stuff, but for the love of God, don't poke at the plot or will unravel like a cheap suit.

On the one hand, I didn't get furloughed!

...On the other, I came down with some kind of bug, so I couldn't go into work today anyway. *grumps amidst piles of tissues, tea, and Sudafed packs*

Aside from that, my weekend was pretty spiffy, though; my mom and I hit the town Saturday, which included trying out a new (and very good) Italian restaurant near to where she lives. I also dug into more of the second season of Fringe, which alksdjfalkdsjfaks so good omg. Maybe I'll use this sick day to write the app for [livejournal.com profile] flip_the_lights.

I had a weekend that was full of studying.
SO FULL, in fact, that it's spilled over into today.
(I have an exam at 5:30, and so took a personal day off from work. If anyone has any good thoughts to spare, sending them my way about 5:30 would not go amiss.)

I saw two movies this weekend, during some much needed breaks in studying, and both involved women with guns.

RED (via Netflix) and Hanna in teh theaters).
If there were now some way to have Helen Mirren's character join forces with Hanna for a movie....that would be glorious.

You know what else would be glorious? For Expendables 2 to be Men vs Women. So that Hanna, Helen Mirren, Sigourney Weaver, Linda Hamilton, Michelle Yoh, and Angelina Jolie could kick some Sly Stallone, STATHAM, and Jet Lee butt.

But that's just me.

Pretty good. No movies.

Well, I take that back. I did see Temple Grandin on Friday. That was good.

In other news, my new pup got approved. Now I just need to figure out when to bring her in from.

I saw no movies. I started the HCG diet, though, and am beginning my days of super-low calorie dieting today. *crosses fingers*

My niece had a beautiful baby boy, though! A NINE pounder! For my tiny little niece, that's HUGE. Still, he's perfect, and we all love him to death!

I spent a very, very, very long time scrubbing out bathtubs at work.

I also finally watched Tron: Legacy on Saturday night. I was not impressed.

This weekend? No, no new movies.

Caught up with my comics though. Have even more love for Chew than I ever did.

I also saw 'Your Higness'. I can't even begin to convey how much I cringed over the course of that film. Is it wrong to admit I enjoyed the locations/ sets? And I thought the monster effects were neat. The plot was gut wrenchingly awful beyond words though.

I spent the majority of my weekend doing stuff for my mom's birthday and recovering from the horror of seeing six-thirty AM for six days in a row. (I don't care if midnight belongs to the witches, anything from five to eight belongs to the devil.)

Aside from making amusingly geeky jewelry out of polymer clay, nothing's doing around here. :-/

Weekend was fun, restful, and productive at the same time. I spent time with my sister and one of our friends, indulged in some Italian food with my pay, and prepared a dessert I plan to plate up later today: lime-coconut sherbet with chocolate coconut brownies in a chocolate bowl.

I haven't seen a movie in theaters since Deathly Hallows Part 1. The weekend was spent watching SpongeBob SquarePants and Soul Eater. But I'm starting to get curious about Your Highness from what you guys are saying. I am a masochist for bad movies. Considering the Wikipedia page on Your Highness implies that all the jokes are sexual, however, I'd probably rather see Sucker Punch.

I saw my family off back home this weekend, which was of course bittersweet. But we had such a fun time (especially me and my sister!) that I really can't be anything but grateful. Plus now I'm nice and familiar with Osaka! I really need to hike up there more often.

Haven't seen any good movies lately, or any at all really. It's pretty expensive here and I can never seem to justify it to myself. Plus wasting an hour sitting in a theater when there's a two-hour round trip involved just to get to the mall seems kind of waste-of-time-ish.

I have, however, seen a good musical lately. :3 I have fallen IN LOVE with the Takarazuka Grand Revue, after my sister and I went to see it together (which we'd wanted to do for quite some time). If you don't know what that is, look it up. It is an all-female theater troupe made of shiny and ridiculousness and awesome. XD I'm a total fangirl.

I saw Source Code. It was so close to being something really interesting, except then it said, "lol j/k I'm just a cookie-cutter time-travel flick sry :D" And it's a total WASTE of Michelle Monaghan. I kept wanting her character from Kiss Kiss Bang Bang to show up and start getting shit DONE.

I was, however, amused by the fact that, after wondering if my disappointment had something to do with having been hip-deep in Life on Mars for a paper in my David Bowie class for the last week (Source Code is kind of like if LoM and Quantum Leap had a baby and it didn't inherit any of its parents' talents, though it does get bonus points for the sly Scott Bakula cameo), I did a bit of reading online and discovered that Source Code was directed by David Bowie's son. Coincidences are fun.

I went and saw Thunder From Down Under, an all male exotic dance revue comprised of five gorgeous Australian men. Let's just say that I haven't seen that much female libido on display since...well, ever. The room went nuts when the boys took the stage. I was proud of San Francisco for making so much damn lust-ridden noise.

Bonus points for the Australian MC dragging three women up on stage to display their skills at fake orgasms. It was hilarious, cheesy, and hot - in other words, everything I expected.

Next time I'm in Vegas, I'll definitely see the full troupe's show.
