Gnf. Should've posted one of these yesterday, but it was way busy at work.

What's your character's favorite dessert? Do they even have the concept? If they don't have one yet and they were introduced to it, what would they wind up liking, do you think?

Charlie avoids desserts, though he does like Sallie's apple pie.

Knox would be hard-pressed to pick a favorite. Possibly black forest cake. But between the Bar and Gotham, he has a lot of choices.

Cy is even worse than Knox. He could live on dessert, I think. But if he had to pick one, it would be chocolate custard pie a la mode.

Kirk never got much of a sweet tooth. (That paunch comes from bad eating habits and not from sweets.)

Ray doesn't really get dessert much. Slimer tends to hit the kitchens first. That said, when the spud's not around, Ray likes ice cream. Special fondness for the red bean flavor offered at the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, second place goes to pistachio.

Gordon likes pie- preferably with some sort of berry based filling- but doesn't go out of his way to get it unless he's reminded of it. Not big on sweets.

Adrian's mom once made what Adrian remembers as THE BEST DESSERT IN THE WORLD EVER, and then never made it again because the process drove her up the wall and several main ingredients simply weren't ever again available in her area. Adrian was about six or seven at the time and does not remember the name. If he is ever reintroduced to baklava there will be a scene of the heavens opening and the angelic choirs singing and he will probably quote Milton if he remembers how to talk at all.

I don't know what salarians eat. Or if they have the concept of dessert. Pretty sure that if they do, Mordin prefers his before dinner instead of after, because life is too short to waste on waiting.

Belar is not so much a dessert person as an after-dinner-drinkin' person.

Medic likes these; he probably makes them himself when he can (and defends the kitchen with several large and unpleasant implements until they're done because Heavy and Scout are equally bad about stealing things).

Arcade prefers fruit when he can get it. Apples are good, but any fresh fruit counts as dessert. Even cactus fruits.

Varric... shoot, I don't know. I don't even know what Kirkwall food is like beyond a few glimpses of meat hanging up in various kitchens in his canon. I know more about the food in DA1 than DA2. This annoys me. I am going to have to think about this. I know that for dinner or snack time he does like fried or stuffed mushrooms, though. That's something.

Fawkes has read about desserts. He doesn't really understand the concept. All food is food.

Ellen was raised in a low-sugar environment. Sweets were made with rationed items; a sweetroll was an acceptable tenth birthday present, and you had to save up a lot of your ration allotments for a birthday cake's worth of ingredients. She doesn't take well to sweetness or strong flavors, and really doesn't like chocolate. That said, she is tentatively fond of licorice flavored stuff, although if she were ever introduced to Dutch drop licorice she'd probably politely excuse herself and then wash her mouth out with vodka.

Peaches. Any way you serve them, from her award-winning spiced peaches to a good cobbler or pie, fresh or canned (in good old fashioned mason jars, of course); she loves peaches. It could be a matter of convenience — Green Lake was rife with peach trees, and sweets & desserts were more of a special treat than an everyday thing — but I think beyond that it's pretty true to her character.

Granted, thanks to Milliways her palate has grown a bit more extravagant. She has a mild obsession with smoothies thanks to Maxwell Smart; a near need for hot cocoa with marshmallows when it's cold out; and a sinful addiction to all of Rae's delicious treats, especially her Bitter Chocolate Death and Lemon Lechery. ^__^

Felix, I think, loves strawberries. Either with or without chocolate on them.

Kain has been known to overindulge on angel food cake.

I don't even know; these are just what they're telling me.

I'm not sure about Karis. I suspect that, like Felix's, it'd be fruit-based, but I don't know more specifically.

Anything involving chocolate. Genuine chocolate, not his world's Cocoa. It's a Userish novelty for him.

Dave has always had a very soft spot for cinnamon rolls. It's possible that Rae may be his current favorite person.

He also likes chocolate, though not too much at one time because it gives him a headache. He prefers dark over milk and doesn't like white at all, and he also likes pineapple upside down cake.

- Krogan as a species seem so utilitarian and focused on warfare (Culturally) and survival (Biologically) that I'm not sure they have the concept of dessert. Wrex is far from the typical krogan, though, so he might develop a fancy for some kind of alien (i.e. human) foodstuff.

- Tarik's cultural background being a mix of Moroccan and Turkish, he probably has a sweet tooth, and he has an enhanced metabolism, too, so he can handle liking things like Moroccan Halwa shebakia, a kind of pastry that's deep-fried, then dipped in honey and covered with sesame seeds. -That- kind of sweet tooth, yes.

Thought of you yesterday, btw. I work across the street from the Diamond District, which is almost entirely run by Hassidic Jews, so we see a lot of Hassidim in the local businesses. When I went to the post office to send a package yesterday afternoon the guy on the line next to me could've been Barbossa's Hassidic brother. I kept mentally trying to fancy up his hat.

Mia's favorite desserts fall more into the ice cream based drink category. It's more or less a tie between dark chocolate-peanut butter milkshakes or Purple Cows. Since these magical things are only available to her in Milliways, the desserts she eats more commonly at the Magic Guild are usually fruit or whatever Draco's decided to make.

Lucas likes nut bread and nut cookies but isn't much on sweets for someone his age. His favorite food is omelets and, if given a choice on what to drink, he'll usually pick water. He's probably the sort to pick cheese as a dessert item as well.

Well, I have decided that Amascut really likes Chocolate Bombs.

Interpreting and translating the recipe to the real life terms

• Half bake pizza dough in a breadbowl mould
  
• Melt 4 bars of chocolate and sprinkle in crumbled bay leaf. Coat inside of bread bowl with chocolate mixture.
  
• Finish baking breadbowl (how this works, I have no idea)
  
• While bowl is baking, mix chocolate dust into heavy whipping cream.
  
• When the bowl is done, spoon the cream into the breadbowl. Add decorative chocolate leaves, curls, or shavings and whatever herb you wish for taste.
