Happy return-to-work day, for many of us!
...Yeah, I know, it's not all that happy, but here we are. Let's make the most of it shall we?
Who got coal in their stocking? Who had a badass New Year's Eve celebration? Tell me all the things!

(>_> And I totally put real Coal in Earl's stocking and the tiniest of candy coals in Weaves, Debi, and Li's stockings!)

Where was I? Oh yes, as we were striding along briskly with our sticks starting the new year with sports, people with bottles in their hands staaaaaared at us at every street corner and then said, 'Oh, they are Nordic Walking'. Or they even addressed their remarks to us.
In any case, they all seemed to collectively be in the Captain Obvious state of inebriation.
Also, somebody set a bush on a public square on fire with a bright red firecracker.

This is Cam. I'm too lazy to log out of this journal.
I got to the New York Waterway ferry terminal a little before midnight and spent the actual midnight moment watching some pedicab drivers take pictures of their foreign tourist clients waving and shouting "Happy New Year!", and then managed to catch a ride back to New Jersey on the very last ferry to Hoboken, where I was the only passenger. So in the end it was all pretty good.

I've bought myself the rest of this week to navigate getting back to Michigan and it's nice as driving back takes two days. Things are good.
Though last night I did have a dream of working the drive-thru at McDonald's and being horribly swamped because of something to do with X-Men: First Class. It was quite odd and a slight anxious dream but not as bad as some I've had.

I spent New Year's Day at work - wasn't down for it, but the person who was ditched us (it'd be great if we could hire someone who shows up to work and stays the duration of their shift...), so I picked it up. Time and a half. Also nothin' wrong with that.

New Year's Day I did get the wife watching Once Upon A Time which was fun. I also finished the first two book sin the Chrestomanci series.

New Year's Day was partially spent at my grandfather's house, in the beginning stages of cleaning it out and getting it ready for...whatever my uncle's planning on doing with it. Renting it to one of his sons, renting it to someone else, who knows.
