Sort of? The tensions between my boss and me right now are leaving me a bit embarrassed that no matter how I try, I end up not staying calm. But I'm less embarrassed than just worried. (Things are going on here that have the whole marketing dept on edge.)
Well, it's not public embarrassment, but I picked up my stash of comics from my box at the store the other day and couldn't figure out why none of them made sense. It turns out I was trying to read them like manga instead of normally. *sigh* I think I've been reading too much manga.
Yes but first a bit of background. I lived in Colorado in the late 70s/early 80s and then moved to the SF Bay area to go to high school for the rest of the 80s. I'm not a football fan but living in those two places at that time, certain names just oozed into your consciousness.
Last weekend I confused Joe Montana with John Elway. My wife was highly amused as she is sort of a football fan and has lived in the Bay Area all her life.
Sounds like the day I lost my right to call myself an Italian-American but gained an equal amount of Noo Yawkah cred in return... long story short, it was the day after 9/11 and I was handing out donated restaurant food to firefighters and cops about a block south of the Great Big Hole. One of the firefighters asked what something golden brown was. I broke it open; it was white inside and had something brown at the very middle. I lost my Italian cred by failing to recognize it as a Sicilian rice ball, but gained extra New Yorker points by saying "I dunno. Looks like some kind of mutant knish."
I'm sure I have but I can't think what at the moment.
I always have points of going wait I know this for a question when it's a simple question.
Edit as I do remember something terribly stupid. I keep forgetting how to defog my car windows. I know how to do it but when I went to Sherlock Holmes and went to the insurance place I had this point of going, How do I make the water go away?
I...really don't know. I made a concious decision a few years ago just to wholeheartedly embrace anything that I might get embarrassed about, since I didn't like the feeling of being embarrassed and I figured the best way was just to...not get embarrassed.

It's a bit hard to explain. :/
