There was a lightning strike and we lost power and then my computer, my computer, it said 'OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND fuckity fuck fuck.'
Well, that last part might have been me.

I was not thinking about my files, the Master's Thesis with edits, the several opera of fiction. I was thinking

"But if my computer's dead, how will I RP???"

You people are sick and are driving me to an addiction. :)

I started panicking and looking for my draft of your MA thesis, and then noticed the line about "the last part might have been me." So your computer is all well and good. That being said:

You have a gmail account, don't you? Do yourself a gigantic favor and upload EVERYTHING important on your computer to that account. Possibly email some of the most important things to various people who could hold copies. I'd volunteer. Because I don't want to think about the year's work that could be entirely wasted if you lose that novel, and computers do die. This I know.

I do have the Vilna stories with my corrections as far as they went, but not whatever you did with them afterwards. You posted Raissa's death on the LJ, so that should be fine, with whatever snippets there. I think I have the Victorian opiatefic somewhere. I *had* your BA thesis on the computer that went zzzzzip in May; that's gone. You already sent out the maskmaker story, right? You should be able to ask the people who you sent it to to send you back a copy. What else?

Okay. Thank God I'm not prolific. The James/Everett stuff, and the Maskmaker story, I need to send to GMail. Also my gradworthy portfolio stuff. Dammit, everybody's computers have been dammit dying!

My computer crashed last night in the middle of the Wings Incident. I started yelling obscenities at my computer and my cat absolutely freaked out.

This CANNOT be healthy, but it's FABULOUS. :)
