None of mine were around last there was a Dream, so no back story to worry about.
It might be really interesting to work a bit with elven dreaming, as Tolkien envisioned it, and the Dreaming and how that would influence their relationship with Dream. Of the Valar, the one who comes closest to Dream is Irmo, called Lorien, who alongside Mandos is the Valar of Spirits. His domains are vision and dreams and his lands are the most beautiful. All those who dwell in Valinor may drink from his fountain and find rest. Elves may of course go to Valinor but perhaps they also walk down paths there when they dream open-eyed, gazing into the night sky?
