I'm pretty sure one of the other suggestions was that a same-sex daemon was associated with having second sight. I'unno. I haven't seen a theory I'm completely sold on (though I do like the idea of a correlation between queerness and same-sex daemons) so I just kinda stopped trying to find an explanation and treated it as... a weird little thing that crops up once in a while and may or may not indicate other peculiarities about the character.
