Plot recruitment post: Ye Crystal Faire

The My Little Pony muns are gearing up to work their way through Season 3 of Friendship is Magic, and we'd like some Millipup assistance for playing out the season premiere.

The two-part season premiere involves the reappearance of the Crystal Empire, a city-state in northern Equestria which had vanished off the face of the earth a thousand years ago. Twilight and her friends are tasked with making sure the Empire stays protected and its people are filled with hope and love, because the state of the Empire is reflected all over Equestria.

After a bit of digging, Twilight and co. discover that they need to hold a Crystal Faire in order to reawaken the people's memories of their past and rekindle their lost feelings of love and hope. Buuuuut six ponies running the Faire all by themselves seems a bit far-fetched, so Twilight is going to ask for help from the patrons of Milliways.

Ye Crystal Faire is kind of a mix between a county fair and a ren faire, with a food court, a jousting tournament, various traditional craft booths, and probably more that wasn't mentioned directly in the episode. Those who join up to participate will be helping to run different parts of the Faire, as well as mingling with the Crystal Ponies to help spread good feelings. There is one catch, however: any pup who wants to come to the Empire must be turned into a pony first, so they don't spook the natives too much. They'll be changed back when they come home.

ETA: If you want to make a ponyfied version of your pup, I recommend either General Zoi's pony maker on DeviantART or the official ponymaker on the Hub website. The latter has more options but is considerably harder to use. Both require Flash. I am more than willing to help Photoshop images from either of those to your liking.

Hey there, Chris Ramirez and Zoey-mun (also Apple Bloom, obviously) here with someone who could be involved with said Crystal Faire. Zoey has talked to Luna on two seperate occasions and Chris has been talking to Twilight (which reminds me to tag that post later) so I offer either of those two for the faire.

What kinds of activities would either of them be willing to help out with?

The only thing I could figure out for Chris is that he could be somehow involved with supervising the jousting tournament. Zoey is a little easier strangely enough: like Chris she could be invovled with jousting, make some food (she has had some experience in this regard), maybe set up a dunking booth?

Not sure if a dunking booth is the greatest idea in the frozen North, but I'm sure Pinkie Pie would be all for it...

FWIW, archery does apparently exist in Equestria, based on the number of stallions with a bow and arrow for their cutie mark. Don't ask me what a vegetarian species with no opposable thumbs would want or need with archery.

Trick fruit harvesting. For when you don't want to just buck them off the tree, you shoot the apples/oranges/whatever off one by one.

For what it's worth, the Crystal Empire itself seems to be less affected by the weather than the area around it. How much of that is Cadance's influence, and how much is the Empire's innate magic, is anypony's guess at this point, but the reason doesn't matter for this.

Sariel has only interacted once with Twilight Sparkle, and briefly met Cubefall!tree!Fluttershy, but I can still see her as potentially interested in this if she hears about it. I could see her helping with one of the traditional craft booths, possibly.

I'd need to borrow someone's eyes if there ends up being a ponyfied version of Sariel, though. Flash and screenreaders don't get along. Pegasus pony FTW?

When in bar time will this be happening? Depending, Kate could certainly help out if needed. Unless she'd be too similar to Applejack and cause confusion. ^__^;

As booths go, she makes several fair-style peach dishes, or could do a Wild Bill style trick show.

As for her cutie mark, I thiiiink it'd be something with a feather and a star involved, but that's about as far as I've gotten. If it helps, the colors she seems to keep ending up associated with are leafy green, sunny yellow and lavender, at least when she's off-duty.
