Scorp actually does quite well academically, particularly with spellwork classes like Charms and Transfiguration. He just ... doesn't think so. He's very hard on himself, even though he's pulling passing grades on assignments, exams, and whatnot. The times that he has gotten a failing grade? Mostly from missing a quiz and/or an assignment due to skipping class and causing an explosion in Potions.
