Bats are! But don't the carnivorous ones mostly take on pretty small insects and such? Ideally I'd go with something that can take on very large or fierce prey. (Claymores in general fight yoma, who are definitely no slouches at fighting, and Clare in particular never met a problem she didn't want to charge at head-on.)

Reptiles are a good idea, though. Hmmm.
