Lois is very well-travelled. I think she was born in Germany, I am trying to remember but I believe she's been to Russia, and any number of other places. Military family and her dad's a three (later four) star general. Later she'll get to see Egypt. She's also been to the Arctic circle and something she vaguely remembers as looking like heaven. Considering it was the abode of a jackass sadistic AI that nearly let her and Martha Kent freeze to death... okay, well, the Fortress of Solitude is pretty beautiful. Still. She's also visited an alien dimension! And will visit a post-apocalyptic future. Lois gets to travel all over the place!
Tavi is not as well-travelled as he'd like to be. Most of what he's seen of Alera is the middle latitudes, and only been any real length of time in one major city. On the other hand, he's going to be on both easternmost and westernmost reaches of the Realm in short order. Later, of course, he's going to be one of the best travelled people in Alera who's not a professio-- uh. Well. He is actually a professional messenger of sorts, just he's not allowed to wander all over. But by his forties, yeah, he's going to know Alera really well and have seen Canea, so pretty extensive travel. And maybe one day even more--but it might be wishful thinking.
