Free Comic Book Day

Happy Free Comic Book Day!

I intend to pick up Guardians of the Galaxy and Rocket Raccoon today! What are you picking up or wish you could?

I wish I could pick up Death Vigil but Image isn't publishing it until July. I don't know if anything out there currently interests me. Also I have a lack of time and lack of bookshelf space ): .

Unfortunately, the Warehouse comic is only in back issues, and I don't feel like paying through the nose for it on ebay.

(And I'm not really fond of digital comics. I'd rather have the paper ones.)

... if anyone finds any of the issues in a cheap bin somewhere (there just aren't comic shops in the Hartford area) I will totally pay people for them.

ETA: IF ANYONE CAN PICK ME UP ONE OF THESE, I WILL PAY YOU.

I am a terrible comic book fan and did not go to a physical store. I did take advantage of Comixology's Free Comic Day and got something like 25 titles which I have yet to read. They have 50 titles available if you are interested.

Funny thing. As FCBD is always on a Saturday, which is to say Shabbos, I have never been part of it, and don't really feel the connection to it. I really do wish they would move it to a Sunday. And also just once tie it to the release of a DC film instead of Marvel.

That said, I will read some of them on Comixology when they are posted there, but in the past few have done much for me. Then again, I am not their intended audience since I already know what I like.

I'm really good mates with the guys who run my local comic store so myself and several members of the 501st Legion volunteered to help out, entertain people and manage the crowd. I had a ball!

And in my Robin outfit and all!

Awesome work but the link doesn't work and I'd love to see your costume.

Awesome! Your costume is fantastic and I love that you had Cap-bear! Thank you so much for sharing.

The one book that I wanted to pick up was also the one book I wasn't able to find: The Avatar minicomic by Faith Erin Hicks and Gene Yang.

I did, however, get to have a bunch of stuff signed by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, so...I think that's a fair trade off.

I'm waiting for the seventh issue of Ash and the Army of Darkness. Sadly, FCBD didn't coincide with the release of the sixth issue (and I didn't think to wait to pick it up) but it's well worth any price. Best AOD comic released in centuries.
