Ellen had one or two friends and a small gang of other ten year olds who had decided they didn't like her, and a pompous, officious Overseer who didn't like her father and who firmly believed that resources shouldn't be wasted on making a child like her feel special on her tenth birthday even if her best friend was his daughter. She got her first adult job assignment shortly after her tenth birthday party. Also her first gun, which admittedly was just a BB gun. It's a wonder things didn't get messy sooner given that after this she started spending large amounts of time holed up on the reactor level practicing with that BB gun. I have an icon for her, although it was when she was maybe eight or a little younger rather than ten.

Shephard was louder, less disciplined, and a little less profane, mostly because Momma could stop him or would hear about it if he cussed in public. Got an icon for him, too.

Stacker was a bit of a hellion, although he wasn't full-on super-angry just yet, because nobody murdered his father until he was twelve. You wouldn't peg him for a future leader of giant monster killers, though.

Hernan was a good kid around his parents and adults who spoke Spanish. He was not a big fan of the Anglos who said unpleasant things about his family. It's a good thing he had his sister Valentina to more or less keep him in line, because a ten-year-old Kryptonian with class and ethnicity issues could be a nightmare very, very easily.
