Friday DE: Let's throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks

So this came up in crackchat awhile back and, as far as I know, it hasn't been brought up in a DE yet.

BAR PLOTS!

Always great to help spark EPs, threads and shenanigans, Milliways' Bar Plots bring fond memories from many.

Remember the Puppets?

Oooo, Kingdom Hospital, scary!

Or one of the times when everyone was an animal?

Sometimes they're plot specific, other times it's just random magical hijinks, and sometimes it's just one person doing a thing that leads to waves of fallout (like the time Lily married a bunch of people).

So for today's DE let's hear from you all about what plots you'd like to see return and new ideas for things you'd like to see or make happen.

New ideas can be for barwide plots and events or ideas you've been kicking around thinking about doing and would like others to weigh in on.

Tag others back with support or ideas of your own relating to theirs. This is a great time to start collabing and recruiting for whatever plot thing your brain has been poking at either as a bar wide plot or an in journal story line.

Just as a reminder, barwide plots do need mod approval so if any ideas do produce events (which I certainly hope they do!), don't forget to check in with them. :)

I'm a huge sucker for "charismatic villain shows up and stirs the pot all over the bar" mini plots. Anyone else remember when Iago showed up yonks ago and went around making life extra hard for patrons like Gilbert Blythe?

I'm not talking epic showdowns between good and evil (looking at you, Blodwen), I mean the kind of manipulative fun of someone like Zemo getting fingers in pies and just giving a little nudge to people and situations that are already teetering on the edge until people figure out What Is Up and band together to put an end to it.

I am a huge fan of weird things happening in bar. Like the child plot or when lost toys came to life.

I've also thought an Escape room plot could be a great dungeon type thing but I do not have the plot/writing slots to run it.

Weird weather could be fun as well. Candy floss/Cotton Candy rain or the like. Or weird spots out side were gravity just behaves badly; not enough to make people fly off into space.

Has anyone done a summary of all the big bar-wide plots that have happened? (Yeah, it could be a longass list, but also useful for explaining stuff for new folks. I keep hearing about things and i don't have the first damned clue what they are.)

Can't say i have any specific ideas... but i know there was a round of Spin the Bottle once....

I'm another one who loves the plots that change how people interact like the critter plot and the one with the translation going down or characters being de-aged. The classics are also great, IMDBflu which hasn't happened in a bit with well, the world but there's fun stuff in it.

Creepy stuff like Kingdom Hospital and Slenderman can be great but require more set-up with amazing fallout.

Weird weather can go in so many ways, we did a play on it with Winter in July which was a huge amount of fun. I love taking that to different extremes.

I don't have any specific ideas, but i'd love to see some happening. The cultivators have been very busy having some plottage going as canon occurs (though they're largely out of the bar right now), Zuko has a little plot going with Seimei regarding spirits, Lupin and Zenigata have a plot going on between them, and Vex...

Vex is a really great tool for plot. He's Fae, he's got powers of control, and the Lost Girl canon really embraces Fae Weird Shit, whether it's 'a rave is a stand in for an orgy in regards to fae magic in the modern era.' He could be used to leverage a LOT of plots if needed, so he's available for people if you need something weird to happen that isn't necessarily Bar-sourced. For example, he's going to be infected with a parasite in the near future, that make it's victims start to emotionally regress back to risk taking teenagers emotionally. (Yes, it's a fae bug Band Candy affect!)

This is a LONG way off from now, but it would be pretty cool to have the Hunger show up during the Story and Song arc in the finale of Lup's canon.
