Milliways Theme Song
I think it was Luna's player who said something about Milliways needing a theme song.
Having had about two hours sleep, I naturally sat down to write one, based on Les Miserables "Master of the House."
Here it is. Please don't kill me:
Milliways, the bar--
Intersection point
Where the laws of time and space are out of joint--
One bartender's a god,
Singer is a witch,
A vampire's the bouncer for the folks who bitch.
Bar for people lost or broken,
This is the Last Chance Saloon
You can have whate'er you most need,
Provided that you pay right soon.
Customers who come--
Some of them are dead,
Some of them are beings whom the gods would dread.
Whether rich or poor,
Humble or the great,
Enemies or lovers, bound by luck or fate,
Those who arrive here need something--
May not know just what it is.
Barfly legend says The Landlord
Might be in the redemption biz.
Apotheosis of bars,
Haven-home of dreams,
For some a place of nightmares, pain and endless screams.
Try not to get killed--
Not that folks would grieve--
If you die, you know that you can never leave.
For some folk it is Valhalla,
For some a place to grump and grouse,
Hell and Purgatory,
Source of myth and story,
Milliways, the alehouse!
