*brightly* So! Lotta doom going about! Here's some of the recent stuff, in chronological order.
. . .A dream that starts out FREAKY and goes downhill from there. Ba'alzamon is his usual creepy self, and Nita snaps back that she doesn't believe that she served him in a past life. He counters by bringing up memory after memory. Nita freaks. Ba'alzamon brings up Ron, breaking Nita more. Finally, he holds out a hand to her, telling her to "Take it and end the nightmare." Nita refuses. Ba'alzamon, getting impatient, points out how her family will see her. Nita gets protective. Nita gets more protective. Ba'alzamon tells her that though he came for her, he could always take someone else. Like Nita's little sister, Dairine. Nita takes this idea less than well. Ba'alzamon offers an ultimatum. Desperate and broken, Nita is on the edge of accepting. . .
When help arrives for great lacy justice. (Asmodean has been thinking things over.) There is much staring. Ba'alzamon greets Asmodean, who calmly greets him as Fairest and Fallen. He also explains why he's there -- to save Nita. Nita shows a remarkable lack of backbone, but Asmodean won't stand for that. Ba'alzamon continues to snark at Asmodean, and Nita tries to get Asmodean to save his own skin. "After all you have done for me?" he asks her. "It is only fair." This confuses her. Between Asmodean and Nita, they produce a knife and get out of there.
Nita wakes up and comes downstairs with the thought of finding Asmodean and getting some kind of explanation. Unfortunately, Asmodean is otherwise engaged. Nita feels Asmodean throwing power around and reacts. Merriman and Jack notice and come over to help. Peach comes in from the fight outside, and all three of them are there for Nita's secondhand reactions to the damage being inflicted on Asmodean. When Rhalen starts using Shaitan, Nita can't take it anymore and passes out. Ron, who had a bad night himself, comes running over and catches Nita before she can hit the floor. Jack is a macho idiot and picks Nita up, in spite of the fact that it's been hardly a week since he had a for-God's-sake heart attack. Ron helps out, and the whole group heads up to Room 63.
Once there, Merriman asks Peach for permission to examine Nita. Peach agrees, and Ron treats them to his version of "Fucking Milliways." Merriman performs a cursory examination, and comes up with nothing useful. Jack, who's been recovering from being a macho idiot, finally asks who the heck all these people are, and Ron, Merriman, and Peach all introduce themselves. And so stands the thread at the present time.
That night, Nita dreams about her partner, Kit, who gives her some good advice.
Phoo. All y'all involved? So much love. I owe you all much. . . something or other. I would offer my first-born, but there being five of you, there might be some logistics problems with that.
