Millichannel is dead, long live... Millisummary?
stevie_star’s idea for a newsletter community is gathering support.
not_that_spike-mun and
metaphor and I think that what would work well is if it were paired up with a system of daily self-summaries rather like the ones we had when Millichannel was down.
Our idea is for every day someone to make a simple post, and then people could self-summarise in the comments. Later, the original poster edits their post to include all those personal summaries, so you can do a page search on the main comm to find what you want instead of looking in comments.
We also think the two summary systems should be in the same community because, hey, easier. We like
millisummary. Sound good?
If this idea is popular, we’d like to get started ASAP. Create the comm, get daily volunteers, etc.

metaphor and I would be the mods of this half of the summary comm; Stevie and whoever else would mod the other half.
Thoughts?

Don't go deciding things without each other's input. That way lies wank.

Good idea. But...
Well, admittedly, Stevie's mun is a friend, so I tend toward overprotectiveness. But I think that since she had this idea--and she's spent HOURS working on it--this is more than a little rude, to more or less take over.
Polite way would have been to IM her, or drop a comment with your idea in her post.
This is not polite.
I'm not saying she has a copyright on the idea or anything. (Besides which, we all violate copyright laws the way some people change socks.)
I'm saying that this shows no regard for her feelings, the work she's put in, or to common courtesy.

So there was no stepping on toes and no taking over, at least as far as I know. If I misunderstood any of it I apologize profusely, but it was all a group effort, not a decision made by any one or three people without consulting the others. The timing just doesn't show it.
