I am sorry, Merc and everybody else. My computer has decided to randomly freeze up on me. Many many times. And the only way to do anything is restart it. Each and every time it freezes.

*sigh*

That sounds eerily familiar. What make/OS do you have? I suspect a particularly pernicious bug.

Windows XP. So far it's been really good for me. This has only been since I hooked up my computer here at my folks' house. So..... I dunno.

But I don't think it's particularly because of XP. I've had really really good luck so far with it.

Think again. XP for over a year now with no probs until this month. I get my virus protection from Charter, my ISP, but they haven't updated the list for two weeks. Now I've gotten warnings of a couple new worms boring through the www. How's that for 19? I hope if that's the trouble, freezing's all that will come of it until I can isolate the bug. Saturday I had a meltdown with my master HD and had to swap out, but the OS is still sticking, so that's not the problem. Look's like this week will be spent poking at every corner of this POS until the culprit pops up. I'll post if I find it.

Would really love to help you... *g* Are you using the Internet explorer? If you do, it might be the last Java Update. It crashed a lott of things. If you do your Updates. If you don't, it might be some malware that seized the security hole. If you already use another browser, I'll take everything back :-) Scanning for viri is certainly a good idea anyway. Horrible thought of you going offline... *g*
