Also, in the same vein, about spoilers and other things: As of this post Harry, Ron, and Hermione are UnBound and back home. They'll be out of the bar until maybe a few days or a week after the 27th, as it would be impossible to play them post-HBP without spoilerifying people. However, even though it will only be two weeks in bar time, for them a whole year will have passed; they're going to come back a year older, fresh from HBP. And also wondering why events happened differently for them than it did for the other HP folk in the bar. Feel free to have your pups wonder where the heck they went or ignore their disappearance, since they stick to themselves somewhat anyway. Quin, Val would probably notice Ron was gone, as he won't show up for a single shift for at least two whole weeks.
This also means that throughout 27th to August 1st or 2nd, we'll be posting OOMs tying our pups into the events HBP--showing how being at Milliways has affected how they were thinking or reacting to things. The OOMs will, of course, have cuts and spoiler warnings as per the rule, but we just wanted to point out that if you don't want to be spoilerified, don't even peek at them, because they'll be rife with spoilers, going even as far as dialogue plucked from the book and stuff. We'll do a summary and link them after we're done them, if you want to read after you've read the book, but we suggest that if you don't read it by the 27th, you avoid our pups and their journals like the plague until you've read HBP.
And, um, that is all. We'll still be around with our other pups.

It would be really nice for the entire HP character community to discuss some of the intricacies of splitting timelines and such. How are you guys going to reconcile the Hogsmeade attack? Your characters were there from HBP time, so is it going to be explained away as being in another fracture of an AU that just happens to follow the book more closely than ours?
I personally don't care, as Tom is AU. However, it would be a really good idea to get everyone - all the characters represented here from the books - on the same page, so to speak, whether they are going the AU route or not. I was going to post to that effect on Potterways, but I was following the request (partially suggested by myself) to wait the ten days as asked.
You guys are, of course, welcome to do whatever you want with your characters. But it needs to make sense in regards to the relationships with the other characters you've been playing with.
I will state this now. My version of Dumbledore follows the Tonks/Minerva/Tom timeline, because there has been too much interaction in Milliways and out to explain any changes away. Whie there might be some overlap in plot with what the Trio go through, as of now he is also AU.

All I mean by all of us being on the same page is knowing who is AU, who is not, who is following HBP events, who is incorporating bits and pieces, etc. Along with this, knowing how divergences are going to be explained, especially in regards to OOM interactions and visits in the timeline some of us have shared over the past year.

Basically, it will be a simple trousers of time deal. There will be a juncture where one of them will have to make a choice whether to use knowledge of the future to change things. In one trouser-leg, they stay quiet and let events run their course--leading to the timeline you guys created. In the other trouser-leg, that character changes things, and it leads to the events of HBP. Those are the guys we'll be playing in-bar. When the characters are wondering why events happened differently for the trio, it can be easily explained with so-and-so changed time, and it led to an alternate timeline where such-and-such happened instead.
Unfortunately, due to the spoiler rules and stuff, I can't even discuss specifics yet.
