all your dreams will come truuuue

This stuff continued. Bad Shit happens. For a given value of "happens."

Anthy is feeling worse, and she goes to Hob for help. She's having hallucination issues, and soon reality is having hallucination issues right along with her. Some of the changes are less than harmless, e. g. the doves who try to peck out her eyes. In self-defense, Anthy wrings one's neck, appalling Hob, who grabs the other one for the safety of everyone involved. Lyra asks the alethiometer what's going on, and is told that it's Morpheus's fault. People's clothes start changing, too, and when Lyra asks the alethiometer what to do, it goes haywire. Then Bad Shit starts.

Anthy is impalinated. Hob tries to be comforting, and invents the word "aleafywhatsits." More Bad Shit happens.

In the meanwhile, Lyra heads off to talk to Morpheus. Morpheus says he was only giving Anthy what she wanted, and poses a riddle. It is revealed that Anthy is dealing with flashback more than dream. She still needs to be able to dream to stop them, though, and because she can't, Lyra asks Morpheus to give her back that good ole REM. Morpheus agrees, but with a price: Lyra has to dream them with her, without Anthy's knowledge, unable to change anything, but somehow acting to reduce the pain. Lyra accepts.

Another Bad Shit proves useful, as it puts Anthy to sleep so she can start dreaming again. Hob is disturbed, or depressed, or both. Lyra puts Anthy to bed.

I can invent the word "aleafywhatsits" if you can invent the word "impalinated." So there. *is smug*

I would just like to announce that Anthy, Hob and Morpheus all rock my procrastinatory hours. Let it be so noted.

Alas! I am blam'ed! Such weeping, such wailing!

Or...not. Glad you liked it.
