Ladies and gentlemen, mesdames et messieurs, I present, for your delectation and delight, a bona-fide old-school summary of the Grand Adventures Of Boxy.
*****
Just about three weeks ago, the crew of Serenity received a transmission from one Andronicus J. Crowley. Everyone's favourite demonic CEO makes them an offer they can't refuse, involving both getting copies of River Tam's medical records to advanced medical research facilities, and taking a certain cheery mechanic to a ball. A shindig, one might say.
Everybody (even Zoe) being a sucker for a cushy, all-expenses-paid on-world stay, the crew touch down about a week later, on Friday. Crowley's pad is just as luxurious as one might imagine, and his guests are understandably pleased. Mal, in particular, makes some good use of the facilities.
That afternoon, Crowley and Kaylee hit Lavinia's shopping district, with the goal of getting young Miss Frye shinyfied for the party. And after a long day's highly enjoyable consumerism, Crowley kicks back in the evening with some light reading. That... proves to be somewhat less enjoyable.
Saturday arrives, the day of the party, and before heading out, Simon and Kaylee have little talk. The party itself, however, gets off to a rather good start. Unfortunately, it all goes downhill rather fast, even as the Tam siblings are obliviously enjoying themselves elsewhere. After the party, Kaylee returns to rain on this parade, utterly ignorant of certain tricks Crowley may have up his sleeve. And thus, Boxy is born.
Sunday morning, a crew in various stages of grogginess and/or contentment board Serenity once more, and take off.
Some days later, Crowley and Boxy touch down... somewhere not Milliways, that's for certain. There's a familiar face waiting for them, though, and the next morning, Prior Fell of Southdown Abbey has words with Gabriel Tam. Crowley, naturally, is anxious to know how it went. He comes to a decision, of sorts, but nevertheless pays a brief visit to Mr. Tam's chambers, in order to leave River's father a... reading assignment, as it were. Andronicus Crowley, you are a rat bastard. And later that night, the demon and the Prior... reflect.
After another few days' transit, Crowley and Gabriel find themselves back on Lavinia, with a call to make.
Cut to: Milliways. Where the Tams and Kaylee, after receiving said call, are now in the bar. Crowley - Anthony Crowley, our Crowley - is there, too. Which is rather unfortunate, considering who picks that precise moment to walk through the front door. All things considered, the conversation goes... better than it could have.
Which, it should be pointed out, does not necessarily mean 'well'.
Andronicus Crowley, once more consigned to the metaphorical waiting room, is again anxious to know how events proceeded. Not that he's going to ask Gabriel that.

(Also thank you for your terribly well-done summary.)
