Evening, ladies and gents. This is your on-duty mod reporting, with your daily Cast List v. 4.0 update.


Everybody? Go here, clicky on the 'join' link at the top, and add:

• all your active characters
  
• all your characters that are retired
  
• all characters that, rather than retire or delete, you would like to see adopted.

Do not add:

• deadwood characters (and I don't mean the show); characters you apped but never got around to playing; characters you apped, played once or twice, and then forgot about, etc.
  
• characters that have not been approved yet.

We'll be re-posting this message every day for about four three days, to give all the active muns time to add their characters. After that, we ourselves will go through the old cast list looking for the leftovers - eg: characters who should be retired, but whose no-longer-active-muns didn't see the post, characters who we know to be active but whose muns are unavailable, etc. - and add them ourselves.

When the cast list is complete, then the links to the old one in the comm sidebars and info will be replaced.

Until then, we ask that, unless absolutely urgently needed for plot, you hold off on apping new characters.

Because there seems to be some confusion:

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FILL IN THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR CHARACTER.

Name: Your Character's Name
Journal: http://www.livejournal.com/users/yourcharacter'sjournal
Fandom: Pick a fandom. If your character was on the cast list before, your fandom is on the drop-down menu. Yes, yes it is. If everybody would take the time to go through the list veeeery carefully, they would find their fandom.

IF YOU ARE RESERVING A CHARACTER, THERE IS, IN FACT, AN OPTION FOR 'RESERVED CHARACTERS' ON THE DROP-DOWN LIST OF FANDOMS. WAY DOWN THE BOTTOM. YES. VOILA.

So, if I were to reserve, for example, Jin from Lost, I would fill in the form like so:

Name: Jin (Lost)
Journal: N/A (NOT http://www.livejournal.com/users/N/A)
Fandom: Reserved Characters

I do apologise for sounding so patronising, but you would be amazed at how many inventive ways people can find to screw up their forms.

On that note, I am aware that due to people picking the wrong fandom/forgetting to type in a journal/forgetting to type in a name/etc, there are mistakes. I will be making a post to rectify these in four three days.


LASTLY - and this especially goes for the 50 or so new characters I approved the other night - CHECK THE CAST LIST BEFORE FILLING OUT A FORM TO ADD YOUR CHARACTER.

I have a question!

I have filled out the form for my other characters (give_us_candy, sanguimmuno, mop_jockey, sally_stitch was added by a mod I think) with no problems.

I have filled out the form for ctunerdling every time this note appears in the back room, but this journal is not on the list.

I'm not sure what I've done wrong with this particular journal.

Some people have reported problems - apparently the fandom list has a tendency to reset itself to '0', from time to time, for people using a scroller-mouse. So, maybe check the '0' fandom, see if she's there?

As above, I'll be making a post when the bulk of this is done for people to point out errors to me, so I can rectify them.
