Tom hasn't had a nightmare in a while! He needs some more torment.

PS - Am I remembering that the nightmares are for a reason other than just being nightmares? If so, fill me in.

They are, if more subtly than at the beginning, part of Dream's attempts to teach Desire a lesson.

That is totally open-ended. Some of the characters interact with the dream in a thread on Dream's journal, some just take the bit that I write and use that as the whole dream. Some people are putting them in out of Milliways posts, some people are just having the character react as the dream would make them react.

To date, everyone has had the dream unlocked after looking over it so that other people can see what kind of mini-hell they've been put through.
