So, after rather awhile of gathering it together and then making sure all the links work and finding the links to the different parts, I present to you the complete story of The Quest for Rachel Grey.



The Quest For Rachel Grey

Book One: Before the Quest

Part 1 - Breaking

1 Elsewhere, a Jean Grey wishes she could be Rachel Grey's mother

2 In Milliways, Wishes can come true

3 The Wish has some unlooked for results

4 Rachel flees the events after the Wish to Milliways, where Gaunt already is and uses his powers against her

5 Rachel's Gaunt-caused nightmares drive her to the Bar, where she talks with Billy Batson, twice.

6 The nightmares continue and At Milliways again, during the Second Other Conflict, Rachel and Hank McCoy talk

7 A little joy and a little angst, as Rachel takes Archie flying, and Hank watches Rachel, worried

8 But then Rachel and that Jean talk...and things go badly

9 Facing worse and worse nightmares, Rachel makes a decision

10 Rachel goes to Gaunt's mansion... and falls into a trap


Part 2 - Christmas Revelations And Strange Gifts

1 Hank makes a wish to Wish and discovers Rachel's fate

2 Rachel considers Christmas and thinks of her friends back in Milliways

3 Rebelling and facing Gaunt a little, Rachel sends Tool to Milliways

4 Tool, Gaunt's slave, Delivers presents for some people

5 Hank, giving out presents, meets and briefs Goldilocks on Rachel's fate, gaining his first recruit for the mission to save her. During this, Goldy receives her present from Rachel

6 Later, Goldy, with Alanna and Adam, tests out the mirror she got from Rachel


Part 4 - Waiting Days

1 Hank briefs Melaka Fray on Rachel's situation, and gains his second recruit.

2 Hank briefs Sir Alanna, gaining another recruit

3 Enslaved, in pain, Rachel sees Billy falling through eternity and gives him a push towards Milliways and some solace as he goes


Book Two: The Rescue of Rachel

Part 1 - The Possession

1 The Phoenix's remnants leave Rachel

2 Mel is possessed by The Phoenix Force, drawn by Rachel's remnant


Part 2 - The Gathering

1 Hank and Mel talk. Hank manages to delay the mission for three days so as to gather his team and materials

2 Hank speaks with Alanna, briefs her, and gives her an assignment. She, perhaps reluctantly, agrees.

3 Hank meets with Kitty while she is bartending, recruits her, and is somewhat foolish

4 The next day, Hank approaches Arithon and requests his aid. He is successful.

5 He approaches Max, explains and succeeds in gaining his final recruit.

6 Mel meets with Alanna, talks to Goldy, and begins to feel the Phoenix Force even stronger

7 Hank fully briefs Goldy, sets up some weapons for her, and they agree on her assignment

8 Later, Goldy tests and prepares her new weapons and supplies and has an interesting talk with Alanna


Part 3 - The Exit

Everyone gathers and is swept away from Milliways by Mel and the Phoenix Force


Part 4 - At The Edge of Time

First, the heroes arrive at Gaunt's Manse and are met by a very changed Rachel.

Then, simultaneously...

Kitty and Goldilocks face and kill Gaunt, after taking some heavy damage themselves,

Max faces dangers in the Halls and then meets and defeats Tool, but not without some complications,

Hank searches for and finds the Doomsday Machine, and finds that nothing is ever easy, and...

Mel confronts Rachel and frees her, sending them both into the Timestream, where they are separated.

Then, the remaining heroes gather at the front of the Manse, and start to compare notes when the Manse goes up and they head back to Milliways - There is anger, angst, pain, and near death


Part 5 - The Return

1 Rachel Arrives back at Milliways - Only the intervention of Arithon and Sir Alanna manages to keep her alive and prevent any attempts of hers to suicide.

2 The heroes return home... and disperse. No one cheers.

3 Hank works on Goldilocks, putting her on the path to recovery, then on Rachel, performing surgery after talking with Sir Alanna and Arithon and with Arithon's continuing songs helping hold Rachel together.

4 Mel returns, still possessed.
