Yet another meme...
Seeing all the Valentine's Day hoopla and jacked-up flower prices, gave me an idea for a meme.
Who are your favorite Milliway's couples/romances/flings/what-have-yous?
Tony/Michelle. If I wasn't already a big fan of this pairing then their threads in Milliways would have made me one.
Spike/Beth Just so romantic and sexy without being flowery or overt.
Ishamael/Shelley Not so much in the "aww" sense but more in the creepy, "ewww" sense.
I always thought Asmodean and Miss Frizzle were very sweet together...even in the disturbing moments. And I loved the relationship between Asmo and Trillian. Very unexpected but somehow it worked.
As Anna knows, I was partial to Mercutio/Lee, they seemed to balance each other well. And she and Rachel have made me a shipper of Kim/Chase, something the show couldn't do!
The threads between April and Holmes were swoon-worthy and after their last thread, I think I'm a big fan of Bernard/Tonks. There's something very warm and real about their relationship with each other.

Ryan/Elaine was one of my early favorites. Back when Shelle told me how Elaine was feeling, I was...well, surprised, at first, then amused, but reading their threads really sold me on the ship. They had such chemistry and you could tell they loved and cared about each other deeply. Plus, they were very much so like the couple in Sabrina, and that's one of my favorite romantic comedies. It's just a classy, timeless relationship, those two.
Tony/Kim. Yes it was unhealthy as hell but they were cute! But not as cute as the giant pink, fluffy monster that is Tony/Michelle. I do not cheat because I play Tony and because they are my OTP. I say this because Rachel and I play them together awesomely and I just adored how they developed without our planning much of anything at all. It was like they just...channeled through us and, yeah. Playing against Rachel really helped bring out my inner Tony and make their threads realistic as well as sickeningly cute.
Jack/Aeryn. OK. I kind of cheat here. I don't really like Jack/Kate in canon, but. Jack/Aeryn is sexy, breaky, complex, and I love reading their threads. Poor Aeryn! *hugs her*
Sara/Barry. It's lovely to see how happy and whole Sara is, and know that Barry's treating her right.
Eddie/Sussanah. I haven't even gotten to their OTPness in canon yet.
And since my brain is forgetful enough not to tell me what other ships I like, I'll end this with my current favorite: Jack/Satine.

And, as much as Ford-inna-head cringes at it, Asmo/Trillian was so hesitant and sweet as to be totally endearing.
Bernard/Tonks is beautiful because it's not perfect. It's very real, and I almost feel guilty reading, because it's such an intimate look into something so private and loving.

Because of "it just slipped out, right after he did."

Bernard/Tonks, of course, is a favorite.
I adored Susan/Cuthbert - when that pairing happened, I cheered.
Lucy/Caspian is love, love, love.
no subject
Also, it never really happened, but I fancy Alanna/Capt. Jack a lot.

Jack Green/Gil Grissom. It's simply wonderful to see how much Grissom has grown with Jack's love and support. And I don't think I'm being biased, even though I do play Grissom.
Bernard/Tonks. Their relationship isn't perfect, nor is it always sweet. But it is loving, real, and they show that love and family are things definitely worth fighting tooth and nail for.
Mike/Mel. My token oh-they-are-so-adorable!'ship.
And I will also plug Sara Sidle/Barry Allen. A relationship neither Alex nor myself saw coming. Nor did I ever expect how much his unconditional love and support for Sara would help her grow as much as she has. They knew from the very beginning their time would be limited, but that did not dissuade their love. And I know Sara will continue loving him even when he walks out that door.

But, excluding anything I'm involved in, I happen to be very fond of Mel/Mike, Jack/Gil, Jack/Satine, Barry/Sara, Mal/Inara, Wash/Zoe, Peter/Lilly, Simon/Kaylee, Bernard/Tonks, Andrew/Sam, and Edmund/Kitty.
And others I forget.
no subject
I also should state that Bernard/Tonks is also love, but, I don't know. It seems so natural it's kind of like saying "I like air."

Random/Ramon. GUH. The sex is hot and tender at the same time (plus lately it's been playing into my handcuff fetish...) and the baby angst has been enough to make me cry on multiple occassions. I respect a pairing that can do that to me. *snugs the boys*
Tonks/Bernard. I remember when I first was spying on Bar/first got here thinking 'Huh?' And then I stuck around and fell totally in love. They just compliment each other so well.
Roger/His Harem. I love the crazy dynamic around him and the people that can't let go even when they think they should.
Jack/Satine for the awesomeness that became the breakage.
And in conclusion (this is a shocker), Mary Anne/Julian. For all it's fuckeduptitude, for all the doom it will rain down from the heavens, it's the train wreck I can't take my eyes from. *is totally not eyeing Write and suggesting that Julian fall back into the bar tomorrow--i.e. Valentine's Day--for great crack before the Plot of Doom. Which I need to bug you about. Verily*

There are so many more I am forgetting. I love them all for the reasons I love writing ships...because they all seem so very right together and they are written with such skill and affection that you can't imagine the ships any other way.
Of course, I shall always be partial to any ship I'm currently playing in. :)

Spike/Beth is sweet, almost intimidatingly well-written, and absolutely wonderful.
Does Wash/Zoe count? Hell, they're the most perfect, realistic, and stable canonical relationship in existance. They get wedged in, regardless of qualifications.
My dearest could-have-been-had-anyone-apped-the-pup 'ship was Miss Frizzle/Bill Nye. *pats them*
Tom/Door has been lovely, though it's been far too long since we managed a close look at it.
Ray/Romania is geeky love, no question.
And . . . okay, this is a place to squee over others, but I dearly love my own 'ships.
Broom/Bar was sweet crack while it lasted, and I enjoyed my time writing it.
Snow/Bigby . . . *happysigh* Canon is evil, so they have Milliways to give them a chance without outside angst, trauma, rehabilitation from injury, mind control, or legal issues interfering. Where else could it happen?

Jane and Tim had an interesting thing, back in the day, though they do work better as friends. (Also, Jane has since come to the conclusion that she prolly wouldn't be able to stand Tim's habit of adventuring. XD)
Mark/Angel was flipping ADORABLE and I so wanted Mark to be able to win at that. But, well. Angel/Collins is also adorable and has the power of canon on its side. Nothing's tearing those two apart now, I don't think.

I'm always surprised that other people read the Ryan/Elaine threads and like them, so thank you!

Thom/Alanna, and Eddie/Susannah come to mind as especial favorites.I'm not much of a 'shipper; favorite IC friendships might be easier. But I will say I would like to see more f/f couples in the game.

Jack/Gil. Maily because my brain always reads it as 'Jack/Jill' and snickers ;)
Sheila/Thomas. *cries*
Aziraphale/Crowly. One word: wingsmut. Hooked me on Milliways and Got me to read Good Omens, which has become one of my favourite books.
Aeryn/Jack. Because Aeryn is so much cooler than Kate dammit! Jack is a fool, clearly XD
Raph/Death. It should be deeply depressing and slightly icky, because... well... Death. But it's not, which I'm guessing has a lot to do with how it's played by the muns.
Viktor/Thea. I can't explain why I like this one, I just do.
And in rly teeny text because I feel wrong about pimping my own pups ship, Angie/Harry. Completely took me by suprise, but oddly enough I think they fit. I may be biased, you may disagree but XP I don't care.

...I mean...
*looks around* *glomps you* *runs away*
...we totally didn't mean for them to ship.

Love it to pieces.
Wes/Hobbie, because of the cheer and the woe.
(Also I will not say Tahiri/Zekk because I DO NOT SHIP THEM AT ALL thank you. Yes, Kyle and Jenny, this comment is directed at you.)

That is all.
okay, so not really all, but they happen to be the one I read the most, really just 'cos they're the one I see the most of. Often I don't know who's in a 'ship with who until it comes around and smacks me in the head. So, uh... make of that what you will and we'll pretend it's not the allergy meds talking. 'kay? Kay.

Even if I'm kinda tickled that Strahan isn't just making friends with Amanda, 'shipping isn't entirely my thing.no subject
... Whut?

Aziraphael/Crowley. So, so much.
Bernard/Tonks. I can't imagine either of them with anyone else anymore.
Roland/Fleur, because we all shrieked and flailed when they hooked up and then it turned into something beautiful and good for both of them, and ended with no drama or hard feelings.
Lyra/Will, because TAKE THAT, CANON.
Utena/Anthy, for the same reasons, and also just because they're cute together.
Lilly/Alain, because it seemed so improbable at first, because it started as bachelor party drunken demonic wedding crack and turned into a really great, depth-having relationship, and because it made me cry at the end.

Claire/Sawyer: Every time I intend to skim a thread and have breakfast, I end up reading it. Their cuteness while staying IC, always makes me squee.
Random/Ramon: Forever. That is all.
April/Holmes: I love how beautifully it is written. It always makes me smile.
I've probably forgotten a whole bunch.
Oh! I think Zekk/Tahiri is adorable when I get a chance to read.
I'm sekritly shipping Roiben/Lethe too, despite the fact it interferes with my canon pairing. Lethe is just too adorable and they write such wonderful threads together.
And obviously I love pairings that I'm a part of:
Viktor/Thea: She's such a moron, despite being an intelligent woman she is sort of like a puppy dog XD
Kaye/Roiben: It's canon, everyone loves canon >.>
Jack/Aeryn: What! I can ship my own characters, really anyone who makes Aeryn happy is fine by me, so if tomorrow she decided to date someone completely different...bah who am I kidding, I love the Jack/Aeryn.

Faves?
Mel/Mike - Oh, the angst, the schmoop, the stuff with the duckie that I try to ignore but can't, the humor, the love. It feels right. It feels real.
Tony/Michelle - Wherein two characters who get royally screwed in their canon find a bit of joy and peace before it all goes wrong again on TV.
Bernard/Tonks - The first citizen of the bar and his wife are also its finest and most believable married couple.
Andrew/Meg - I would love this unlikely but delightful pairing even if Batya weren't part of the RP. It don't hurt, though, that I know the behind-the-scenes as well.
Special case: Ace/Tim - A great romance, and then a painful but totally probable break-up. sometimes love goes wrong, but not everyone can make it do so with skill.
Naraht/Johnny Smith - Gone but not forgotten, and one of the more touching and heartbreaking short affairs.
Ray/Romana - Geek love is strong love.

Jack Frost/Satan must also be mentioned, in addition to Jack Frost/ANYONE, really. He entertains me.
April/Holmes MORE WITH THE OMG. I'd never have thought of them as compatible but the writing is AMAZING.
Jack/Chris is squee.
Bernard/Tonks. Gotta be one of my favourite couples EVAH. Their chemistry is just really fun to read.
Kim/Chase I need to read more of. I love both of them as characters and I love them together.
And I really feel I must give a mention to one of my own, just because the one-sidedness of Harry Potter/Faith's boobs is so much fun to write.

Er.
*shifty*
*siiidles off*
Um, ignoring any of mine, because obviously I like those (Even Ishamael/Shelley shutup), I love:
Meg/Andrew
Tonks/Ber'd
Max/Faith because HEE!
OTP: Carrot/Angua
no subject
~Ber'd/Tonks, o' course, for the sheer realism of minor spats over cooking dinner and schmoop over a crying baby.
~Lucy/Caspian, who I never would have thought of shipping before.
~Lilly/Alain, which was beautiful and doomed. I miss it.
~Roland/Death.
~I have a soft spot for Asmodean/Trillian, because it was so improbable, and turned out so sweet, in a quiet way.
~Lyra/Will.
~Bran/Anne. I didn't get to read much of it, but just the concept makes me gleeful.
As for my own pups:
~I liked Nita/Ron, even though everyone -- including the pups, I think -- knew it couldn't last.
~Charles/Antigone are the OTP that amazed me, because first time in and BAM romance. Er. Mildly breaky awkward sort of romance, but.
~Henry/Memnoch was so frigging much fun to write.

Aziraphael/Crowley as one of the things that attracted me to the game when I first started reading it right when it began.
Both Death/John Constantine and Death/Raph are great, both because of the idea, and well, Death is awesome. I'd fight for her too if I was one of these guys.
Ako/Merriman, because they play off each other so delightfully. I loved how astounded he was at the beginning, but now she seems to be wearing him down. Also, the tea ceremony!
Kaylee/Simon, because of all the wacky hijinks they had to endure to get together. And like Mike said, they probably 'have really cute sex'.
Puck/Havelock because it's hard to think of such an unlikely couple that actually worked out!
Mike and Mel are consistently a delightful play between silly and so obviously loving. Also, Xander in the mix was great.
Roland and Fleur, because it was good for both of them.
Bill and Fleur because she is pretty enough for both of them, and he loves her more than anything.
April and Holmes, because damn, it hurts every time. (I have a feeling that was your plan, you evil, evil people.)
Cuthbet/Susan because it was so unexpected, but was really one of the less doom filled DT relationships!
Archie/Svava! They are so perfect together. I love both of them, and both together is even better!
*practices moves in front of a mirror to get them both in bed*Nita/everyone she's had a crush on. I'm sorry Adiva, I can't help it! Must be character bleed.
Garion/Cenedra (cute!)
Harper/Laini (more geek love)
Dream/Moiraine (creepily cool)
Oh, I could go on all day. Maybe more later!

Tony/Michelle, Jack/Chris, Kim/Chase, Ryan/Elaine, Sam/Andrew, Bernard/Tonks, April/Holmes, Asmodean/Trillian, but also now Asmodean/Shelley, Mel/Mike, Karr/Bonnie, Meg/Andrew, Ishamael/Shelley, Wash/Zoe, Eddie/Susannah, Bill/Fleur, Spike/Beth and others but my mind is slow right now.
I just love the way they're written.

Also, hee. So many pairings I love. Aziraphael/Crowley, of course, which was the magic that made me fall in love with the game; Susan/'Bert, which I watched avidly from the first GLIMMERS; Alain/Lilly, which was amazingly written and so very understated and heartfelt; Death/Raph, because WAH; Wash/Zoe for its canonical trueness; Eddie/Susannah for an amazing example of rpsterbation done right,; Bill/Fleur for the flighty and the sweetness; Utena/Anthy and also Lyra/Anthy, because Anthy with anyone who respects and loves her is beautiful.
There are others. SO MANY OTHERS. But my dinner is done, so off I scurry. XD

Also, I love all of the pairings you listed there, plus:
Ako/Merriman, for the sheer bogglement (I think Madb refers to it as the OMGWTFOTP)
Roland/Death
Meg/Andrew
and my own Bran/Anne (Dylan Thomas and alabaster brows!) and Lyra/Will (Damn you, Philip Pullman!)
I'm sure there are more out there I'm forgetting.
