Rather weird...

The Sol Blade plot appears to have showed me an odd property of Milliways:

When I give Felix a normal presence post, there is (I think; I haven't actually figured it out) about a one-in-ten chance that the post will be tagged.

But when I warn people away from him, he is almost certain to be tagged.

Why?

Not me, so much, but other people are suckers for doom. Watch the Forsaken entrance posts, sometime. Or go look at Twelfth Night plot.

Because the big, flashing 'stay away' sign catches people's attention, and we then want to know why we should stay away, of course.

Curiousity is a wonderful thing.

Because we are perverse.

Some players just love to inflict drama on their pups.

Because DOOM and looking scary is more likely to attract both IC and OOC attention than everyday posts.

And... well... entrance posts generally are for tagging, so we tend to ignore warnings if the post draws attention unless there's an OOC reason why not to.

It's not so much the doom aspect of it, I think, it's making your post unique amidst all the other entrance posts.

Are you going to notice some random person sipping tea at the bar, not doing much of anything? Maybe but not so much. Are you going to notice the person who looks angry or upset, or who's just been stabbed, or who looks exceptionally happy? Much more likely.
