Off Topic: LJ help

Sorry for the Off-Topic-type post, but I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to be logged into two journals at once?

In my limited experience I have found that it depends on the OS. With Windows XP I think you just need to open a new browser window. I don't think it can be done with Windows 95. But I am no expert on the matter.

Do you have Firefox?

Actually, once you've downloaded Firefox you can install the LJ Login Extension (http://www.gweep.net/~slarti/Gweep/LJlogin/) to easily switch accounts while still using the same browser window.

Easiest way I've found is just to have two different browsers - firefox and mozilla, or IE and firefox, or some such combination - open at once... but then again, I'm insane.

Silly computer. *baps it onna head*

Hope you get it sorted. I'd die with only one browser, I think.

When you have multi-browser download capability - there are TONS of browsers - many even have tabs!

*is insane and has about 8, but then again, me have about lots of pups and me RP them multiples at a time... keeps that insane thing*

And you can log in to a diff LJ in each one - just don't tell it to STAY logged in on any of them, or the cookies overwrite each other.

I've found with IEvil, if you open separate windows (as in, not make a new window from the menu, but double click the original icon), you can log in as multiple accounts. At least, this has worked for me with Win98 and IE... 5, I think.

For Windows, you can download Firefox, Opera and Netscape for free, and the newest version of AIM comes with an AOL Explorer free as well. (It's not quite as buggy as regular IE, and is multi-tabbed, as are the other browsers. Tabs are a godsend to RPers.) Like Midge mentioned there's an LJ multiple login extension, which is very, very helpful if you don't want to deal with multiple browsers.

There are other free browsers out there but those are the ones I've used and can recommend.
