Right. Somewhat obviously, we are starting the final ramp up to the end of the purge, and thus also the end of the lockdown. Which means, yes, that some time in the Not Too Distant Future, apps will once again be open.

BUT, before we do that, we have another matter we need to attend to. It was stated at the beginning of the summer that, when apps re-opened, we would be instituting an overall character-per-mun limit; this is still true. However, in order to keep track of how many characters each mun has, we now need...

*drumroll*

THE MILLIWAYS CENSUS

What we need you all to do is to send, for each of your active characters, an email to the milliways.apps[at]gmail.com address, with the subject line CENSUS, and the following information:

Name: [Your usual online moniker - what people in the game call you by.]
Character: [The name of the character.]
Fandom: [The fandom the character is from.]
Character LJ: [Link to the character's LJ.]
Contact: [Your AIM handle and/or email address.]

Trés simple, no? There are just a few things to remember.

• Send in one email for EACH active character you currently have ownership of. NO multi-character emails.
• Send in emails ONLY for characters that have been confirmed as active in the purge post. Please wait until a character has been confirmed as active before sending in an email for that character.
• Do NOT send in any emails for characters that were apped in the last open app week, ie, in April. These characters have already been numbered and tagged, as it were.
• If a character is one of those due to be retired or deleted in the very near future (eg, after Armageddon plot, or whatever), and was noted as such on the purge post, you need not send an email for that character.

This will be reposted every day until we're done, and the data we collect from this will help us decide on a final character limit. As always, if you have any questions, I am pingable as scuba soph on AIM, or emailable as copinggoggles[at]livejournal.com.

Question!

If unforseen circumstances (well-reasonably unforseen) have arisen, preventing you from keeping all the characters you said you were keeping at the beginning of this whole...thing-what should I do?

Let me rephrase. That might not make sense.

I have. Puppet A, and Puppet B. Puppets C, D, E, F- (I think I need to go through it again and make an exact list for you. I am sowwy) Need to go away since my life's about to pick up and go crazy in the next couple of months.

I also have a question about Hiatuses, but I can wait on that. XDD.

And I'll just add onto a comment with-I have two puppets I'd like to keep in bar-and I'd like the rest to go away. --;. Then I have two I want to app whenever puppet apps open again. I'm being horribly confusing, and I can't apologize enough.

Well, you need to hunt down the mod(s) in charge of the fandom(s) the characters are in, and find out whether the characters have been processed yet - if they haven't, you're probably good to delete the comment and comment again with the new status, but if they have, then it falls to whatever that mod's particular modus operandi is vis-á-vis changing statuses.

(Either way, ping and ask first, since we are each dealing with our own sections a little differently, and so advice one mod gives might not apply to the fandoms in another mod's section.)

Is it okay to wait until all pups have been tagged/retired/deleted until sending in the census emails? Or would you prefer them to be sent in as they're tagged?
