The Setup

The Timeframe

A Basic Timeline of Events

What's going on:

Basically, there are three half-demons whose very existance has created a series of 'hellmouths', dimensional portals to Hell, within Karanda (part of Mallorea) in Garion's world. With great power comes great responsibility, so Garion and his usual companions will be the ones dealing with this mess as Eriond does everything in his power to keep things from getting completely out of hand. However, they can't be three places at once, so Garion's going to end up coming to the bar for help. We're going to need people for three teams:

First Team
* will need to be largely physical fighters
* will be battling vampires and a number of demons of all types
* won't have to worry about human combatants

Second Team
* will have to be willing/able to kill people (NPC Karandese cultist)
* will require at least one explosive

Third Team
* will need to be largely magic/sorcery types (or able to manipulate this sort of thing)
* will be somewhat puzzle-based

wellthrownstone will be traveling with the Second Team and go_byebye and whoever else will be covering Third Team. Each team will have a sorcerer with them, though I urge all going to take a look at the main wiki page and especially the section concerning magic and sorcery. All threads will be PRE-THREADED to avoid not finishing and to get things done as neatly as possible. We'll be starting the threads next week and go until they're done.

Timing wise, the main events of this will be happening four years in the future for Garion. This four years can go as quickly or as slowly as participants would like, so I'm putting up a poll down here for people who sign up to please vote for the time when your character/you would be free to have this happen in their timeline.

However, she's not adverse to killing people if she must, and she's a pretty tough chica. Plus, I need something for her to do other than get drunk and make out with Adrian Monk... >.>

... oh, and like I said over IM - November is playable, but will likely be a little distractable and vaguely cracky/incoherant. Moreso that usual, I mean. Because of Nanowrimo.

Inigo can handle human combatants, or demony things that aren't too hard to kill with a sword. He might seek Moiraine's approval (or at least make sure the mission doesn't have her disapproval), but other than that, I don't think there's any IC problems with his getting involved.

OOCwise, I have at least one big plot upcoming this fall ( of Leaves) that I suspect is going to eat my brain for lunch, but if that can be worked around by prethreading, I'm good.

I'd really like to have Andrew involved.

He'd probably be best suited for the Third Team, but I'm not sure. Demon-summoning is his specialty, but it works rather differently in his world.

Drizzt is quite good at demon slaying, speaking from canon his scimitar Icingdeath is a demon bane scimitar, so as long as the demons of your world have the same properties as the demons of his world he'd be happy to lend a hand or sword...once he goes back to his world and gets more healing potions.

*after checking his references.* Speaking truly from cannon his scimitar is bane scimitar versus creatures who dwell in the firey depths.

this can be anywhere from a plane of the abyss where there is a lot of fire of the elemental plane of fire.

so its a pretty broad subject.

so long as the demons are of a fire variety he should be ok.

and if they are not, well Drizzt is a damn fine swordsman, speaking from canon again there is only one other swordsman that is his fighting equal.

Also, as re: time, though we need to work this out with us and the approval of Riley and various other people (like Madb, because the farce will be far less a farce lacking Hel) -- when she's not busy getting married, any time is good for her.

For me, all I know is my exams are mid-December.
