As of this post, the new Milliways sound system is operational. Whistler made sure to leave detailed instructions for Bernard, Mikey, and anyone who happens to be tending Bar, so if they need to turn it off, change the volume or put something specific on, they're quite free to do so. He's included a ninety-nine CD collection of all different sorts of music to start with, along with a small stack of audiotapes. It's also capable of playing eight-tracks and four different speeds of vinyl record. No wax cylinders, alas.

It should be noted that Whistler has kept a remote control that he specifically built for his own use. He has no intention of telling anyone about this unless absolutely necessary.
