Just call him a pear
Not really, but I didn't have a more interesting title. Adam was hanging out in the bar last night. Thom comes over, and Adam is all prickly but is amused by Thom's formality and lets him sit down. They are joined by Cara, to whom Adam is also prickly, and Cara is smart and leaves. Thom's player and Adam's player discuss their characters' emotional immaturity, and debate building a castle out back and hanging a "no girls allowed" sign. Adam likes horses and swords, which disturb Thom. He questions Thom about how he was treated, and gets a bit creepy.
Paul is still shy after their argument the other night, but Adam produces a peace offering. A cat shows up, after the peace offering, and both Paul and Adam are prickly. Steerpike joins them, and Adam is downright cold, while Paul is just downright strange.
Meanwhile, Adam is, for once, not plotting, and Paul is upset but Adam's tired. Paul is confused by this notion of rest, and wants some of Adam's nonexistant hot chocolate.
Things are misunderstood, and then misunderstood some more. Adam calms down, and they talk about dreams.
Having realized that Paul doesn't sleep, takes it upon himself to try and get him to rest outside of the tank. Paul is afraid, though, and not willing to risk it. Adam points out that it's not just sleep that brings danger, and promises that he'd watch over Paul. Paul is uncertain, but Adam promises. Paul tries to get out of it again, but Adam isn't having any of that. Adam is creepily sweet, and Paul is creepily woobie-like, and they head upstairs, where Adam continues to be creepy.
THE END.
