The Summary of PAIN

Crowley arrives carrying a sword, his condition improved, if not by much, though he still really shouldn't be up and about. He enquires whether anybody present knows anything about bird anatomy. When Dr. Gottreich asks why, it is revealed that Crowley wants his broken wing set. He's not too happy about letting the doctor do it, and Tonks and Snow are very suspicious indeed, but it is decided that there's not really much of a choice.

Before they begin, Crowley asks Tonks for a sound shield around the table. This, it transpires, is a very good idea, because once the doctor grabs the wing and yanks, Crowley screams blue murder.

Once the wing is set and splinted, Tonks asks Crowley whether he wants a pain-killing charm. Crowley refuses, on the grounds that being numb all over does not facilitate sword practice. Tonks enquires as to the purpose of the sword, to which it is revealed that, should Aziraphale return and be 'not himself', Crowley has every intention of putting said sword to good use.

When 'Skandra arrives, Crowley wastes no time in retrieving his memories. They rather hit him with the force of an oncoming train and, exhausted, and not at his most stable to begin with, this slightly unhinges Crowley. 'Skandra's not too happy either, but at least Crowley and Tonks are more than willing to swim right along with her delusions of Troy. However, 'Skandra then proceeds to (unwittingly) punch Crowley in the gut. Repeatedly. Ow. Crowley, thoroughly gut-punched, leaves. 'Skandra and Tonks sob, and break the community's collective heart into teeny tiny pieces.
