Random Fandom Squee.

Where's my Harry Dresden-mun when I need them?

*two-thirds of the way through Storm Front*

I need someone to blather to. Also I blame you for the fact that I only see David James Elliot as Dresden though I see the book character as slightly less pretty?.

Still.

HEE.

Mwehee.

You could squee to me if you want.

I'm not sure why I like it so much either... but it does make storytelling interesting when you only know what the character knows.

And yes, Murphy rocks. :D

[identity profile] gypsyjr.livejournal.com 2007-02-16 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. Well, all I can say about that is that Things Will Happen in future books.

It's the Stealth Fandom. It sneaks up on you. :D

I DON'T KNOW.

[identity profile] gypsyjr.livejournal.com 2007-02-16 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure. You'd have to ask his mun.

*sneaks about stealth-like*

The Harry-mun is at work where things are evil and she cannot do fun things like talk at people.

However - the Harry-mun leaves work in an hour and should be home by 1800 EST.

The Harry-mun, at one point, was going to play Morgan, but didn't b/c he had only been in one book. Harry-mun might be playing tv!Morgan in another game b/c 2 Dresden pups inna head is more than enough.

As far as where Harry is in canon - he's somewhere beyond the first couple chapters of "Proven Guilty" (Book 8) - and he's kind of just been lurking / lounging since then. (I also play Bob the skull - b/c the two just go together. Actually - I played Bob first and brought Harry in later.)

And no, I do NOT regret playing these characters and throwing these books at everyone I can find. *G*

Yeah - Harry's slightly 'less pretty' than DJE, but I cast book!Harry before the show was in production and cast and as much as I love James Marsters, I'm too lazy to doctor all the shots of him blond. Plus - DJE has the right look for being TALL (Harry's 6'8").

Typically I'm not a fan of 1st person either, but the way Harry's written - it WORKS. Mostly b/c it's like the old detective stories, but w/o the wacky lingo. *g* The opening lines to "Storm Front" are still some of my favorite lines from any of the books.

And - more about Morgan - uh - you learn more about him later. ;) He's a great character.

Did I hit everything from the post and comments?

You can blather at me, as I've read all the books.

And have the e-books.

:D?

[identity profile] faithful-slayer.livejournal.com 2007-02-16 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I do! Most of the paper ones, as well, but all of the e-books.

Ok - but if you borrow the books, you then must become a 'Bookstore Commando'!

bwahahahahaha!

Lots of things, but typically, a) getting your local bookstore to carry the books - if they don't already; b) "facing" the books they do carry; c) putting the Dresden books in high-traffic areas or on endcap displays; d) convincing random customers in the store that they cannot possibly walk out without at least one copy of "Storm Front"!

What *I* do - I buy copies of "Storm Front" and give them to my friends. BEST ADVERTISING TOOL EVER! Just ask half of the ppl who play at Milliways that I've met! :) And quite a few that I haven't!

Ahem.

I happen to know just how you feel.

:)

[identity profile] dramawench.livejournal.com 2007-02-17 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
DUDE. I started reading those books a month ago and I am almost finished with the series. SO DAMN GOOD!

And James Marsters reads the audio books and he is so fantastic.

Yes, yes, I utterly blame H2.

Worst best influence EVAR. Stupid Dresden :P So addictive.
