Re: Mitchell Hundred (
thegreatmachine )
As the pup in question does not have Back Room access yet, Garion will be doing his PSA. That said:
If your pup approaches Mitchell and has any sort of mechanical anything on their person, please let me know either by AIM or in narration or in an OOC note at the bottom. Mitchell will be able to hear it and possibly, depending on how close and the status of the object in question, talk to it. Your pup (unless they are partially mechanical) very well might not hear him doing so but this is true all the same.
That said, if the object is OFF or inactive (as in, a gun with the safety on or a cellphone that is turned off), it is effectively sleeping to him. He will know it's there, but he won't hear anything from it. Further, objects can lie to him. Even further, he won't be nosy unless he's given reason to be and anything he hears from your machinery will be discussed with and/or provided by you. The only possible exception to this is for comedic value (ie "Your cellphone would really appreciate if it wasn't put in the same pants pocket as your keys" or something equally innoculous).
More on Mitchell is on his infopage.
ETA: After being tagged by Barbara Gordon, I realize I also need to put THIS up...
Mitchell is a HUGE DC comics fanboy. Giant. He grew up reading them, Kremlin read them as well, he used to hang out with his friends in the comic book store one of their dad's ran, he decided to use his unique gift to work by becoming a superhero because he was a huge DC comics fanboy. Superman is the one he's most versed on, but he'll reference other DC stuff and will know most DC pups.
That said, there is something to say between someone's appearance in a drawing and their appearance in "real life". Further, Mitchell is a rather skeptical guy. He's also (soon will be, after a few visits) a politician, so he won't tip his hand. I'm going to try my best to keep his knowledge relative to when he was really reading comics on a regular basis, but I wasn't alive at the time, so I can but try.
I am happy to discuss this with anyone if it comes up and am flexible on things. Leave a message there or AIM/EMAIL me about it if there's any particular qualms you have with anything up here.

That said, I'd say that best bet would be to go with the rule canon established with cyborgs *shivers*:
They can hear and understand him talking to machines but he has no ability to make them do anything.

He has machines run by nuclear reactors and magic. Whee?

I'm imagining Bender... and more importantly... PHANAN.
This is gonna be GREAT.

Also, I'm incoherently flailing with squee that Mitchell is in the bar! I just re-read the first three Ex Machina trades last night, for the...fifth time or so.

...he's going to get asked "where's your robots?" I tell you this now.
*is now flashing back to saddest scene in the comics EVER with little bitty Mitchell and*

Nathan and him must, must thread. Heheheh. Uh, usually just figure he would have things like his cellphone, his watch. Possibly a palm pilot, but maybe not since they've never shown him using one in canon, gonna assume for now that he doesn't. The clock often stops if he's Bound. and he usually keeps his cell off since no signal anyway.
