This is just a friendly reminder from your very friendly Bar Mod Version 1.0 that Bar does not produce living animals, people, plants (the kind with roots, not salad), bacteria, or viruses. Basically anything with the 'spark of life,' if we're gonna be poetic, is impossible.

To quote the FAQ:

I noticed that some people have animals that were made by Bar. What’s up with that? Can I have a tinyphant too?

No. Bar cannot produce living beings. Those animals were created before this issue was clarified and the information was disseminated. There was no point in retconning. However. Any new animals ‘created’ by Bar will be retconned as soon as they are discovered.

What about seeds? Can Bar make seeds, or bulbs, that you can grow plants from?

I was just trying to figure out for the sake of a pup I plan to app, who will definitely be growing some exotic (non-Earth) plants in the garden, if she can get the means. I suppose Bar can produce medicines rendered from these plants, but she's the sort to want to make them from scratch.

I seem to vaguely recall Mary Lennox once acquiring seeds from Bar. I also may be insane, but I vaguely seem to recall that she did have permission to do it.

Since it wasn't part of the FAQ section per se and merely implied, I don't expect people to retcon or even really know. But now I've said so I assume relevant parties will take note.

But it would be so much better to make it a plot, don't you think? She might make friends and enemies.

Ack! Yeah, she did get seeds/plants from the Bar, and that is my fault. *pops in belatedly sheepish* But she can get seeds from elsewhere! And has! So it will not happen again.

However, while I'm here asking questions about Bar procedures (and not to stir up ANY of all that from a few weeks ago, but) I have been meaning and forgetting to ask: remind me of the policy on acquiring works of fiction from the bar which are not direct canon for any played characters?

I don't know that there is a policy. I don't recall instituting one, and I have had Bernard read several books that I assume he got from Bar.

How about medicines? Say if Malcolm Crowe or one of the other doctors is looking for a particular medication to help someone that includes a plant component (not the actual living plant)?

I have nothing at all useful to ask or add, I just want to say that "do the photosynthesis mambo" is one of the more delightful phrases I've seen lately.
