A question that is quite possibly quite stupid

What's the policy 'round here about writing for characters who aren't yours? Can we do it if no one's taken them? I ask because I wrote a Puck-Oberon thing and am not sure if I'm allowed, in case an Oberon should enter the game at a later date.

... That was phrased a bit oddly. I hope you all see what I'm getting at.

I always figure that you can write whatever you want, with the understanding that other people don't have to go along with it.

It's impossible to avoid for some characters (*bows*) so. Just use common sense? As they said.
