Monster summary
Because doing all this alone or indeed putting it into some semblance of order would be painful in many many ways, here it is broken up by the mun who summarized it in order of their character's appearance.
Thom: Adam shows up and is upset because Thom is a big fat liar. Adam has shiny sunglasses. Thom asks to see them and eventually offers six truths for the sunglasses/his hand back because Adam stuck it to the table. Adam gets two for now and also holds Thom's hand, which means he gets a third on the house. They go to talk to Alanna.
Thom assures Pepper that his sister is insane. She explains science a bit and is hilarious at it.
Pepper points out that Adam says Thom is lying and Adam Knows, Man. She asks if Sario hurt Thom, which sends him into a giggling fit Pepper calls him weak and eventually manages to piss him off enough that he stops laughing. Pepper makes a nice speech about how Thom isn't alone and he ignores it.
Adam: While Thom is being attacked by Pepper and Alanna, he again insists that nothing happened last night. Adam overhears and is upset to hear Thom lying again. Thom is upset, but Pepper and Alanna want to hear what Adam has to say.
Thom is definitely not afraid of girls, but Adam wants to know how he's going to escape them. He mocks the idea of Thom running away, even if he would look cool in his new sunglasses. Adam rhymes like Dr. Seuss and gives Thom a hat before being outright mean. Thom says he doesn't care if Adam destroys his sunglasses, but Adam knows better. On a roll now, he continues to bother Thom by enlarging his robes, under the guise of having a bit of fun. Adam has Thom suitably discomfited, but presses further and really starts to creep out Thom-mun and Adam-mun.
And then things get really interesting, while Thom tries his best to ignore what Adam is saying. He spits in Adam's face, and Adam decides it's time for the gloves to come off. Thom insists it's not real, but then he has Roger to deal with, and as Thom starts to snap, Adam becomes himself again.
After all that, Thom is still lying and Adam gives up, storming off, but not before giving Thom another pair of sunglasses.
Pepper: Pepper appears. She and Thom banter. Apparently Thom is a player. However, he is not a fisherman.
Pepper and Adam discuss snakes, and Adam reminds Pepper of someone. Adam tells Pepper about Paul. She is kind of hurt and obviously upset. There is schmoop. So much adorable schmoop.
Alanna: After an unsettling daydream, Alanna races into the bar looking for Thom. Once she reassures herself that he is alright, she meets Adam and Pepper. Alanna quickly warms to Pepper's quirky, no-nonsense attitude. They discuss Alanna's wardrobe and Thom's tendency to mock her for wearing dresses. Pepper is curious to see how this other redhead stacks up and Thom opines that being knighted trumps all of Pepper's cards. They then discuss the modern qualifications for British Knighthood. Alanna reacts to Pepper's disgust over Thom's knighthood comment by offering to help her trounce him, only to discover that Pepper has already successfully done so herself. This further cements Alanna's good will towards Pepper and they briefly consider ganging up on him. Pepper backs off and Alanna continues to tease him before letting it go.
Pepper and Alanna commence teasing Thom over his love life or lack there of. Pepper blindsides Thom with the subject of Sario and Thom denies having any romantic assignations with the mysterious painter. Alanna notes that he seemed disturbed by Sario's presence and Pepper conjectures that Thom's bad mood must be a result of rejection. Thom denies everything, Adam calls him a liar and Thom gets pissed.
After initially running up against Adam's gruff demeanor and likening his cryptic attitude to that of Thom, Alanna discovers that Adam is from England, 2004 and that he is not, to her relief, trying to teach Thom new magic tricks. They discuss the nature of power, pride and innocence. Alanna insists that she usually acts with good intentions and asks Adam if he even believes in the concept of innocence. The discussion then moves to the different deities found in their worlds. Alanna is puzzled by the apparent lack of balance in monotheistic faiths and inadvertently pisses off the antichrist. Adam then reads her mind and answers the question that has plagued her all evening. Once she learns that he is not an agent of either God or the Devil, she moves the conversation to more banal topics and asks about his relationship with Pepper.
