Apartment Saga, Continued
Well, we got down here, got to the apartment, spent several seconds looking for the bitch on our door, which was very faint and hard to see, and then discovered that none of my stuff smells like smoke in the least.
So, y'know, yay. Turns out the bitch was there before we moved in, we just hadn't noticed it and, my roommate in the fragile state she was in, it totally freaked her out.
Apparently she left her window open (we're going to have to talk about Proper Behaviour in a City) and somebody slit her screen and lit the drapes on fire.
Looks like we're moving to the third floor anyway, even though I'd be okay with staying on the first - but she's really freaked out and sort of over reacting, and the upstairs apartment is about the same amount of space for less money, and it'll be easier overall to move.
So! Very little harm done, a great deal of worrying for nothing, and scads of thanks to everyone for your support.
As it stands, we won't be able to move into the new apartment until end of this week, and who knows when I'll get everything hooked up, so I'll be in when I can, but not as much as I'd like to. Very sad, indeed. But. Could play for a wee bit now? Who's around?
