Need Help

Ok so I've been totally slacking with my pups lately but I promise i'm going to get back into it.

I've just managed to finally get myself setup with AIM adn I was wondering what exactly this Crack-chat I keep hearing about is? I really want to get more involved and get my pups into the Bar more often. I want to get involved in plots and start making friends so come on, help out a not so new newbie.

Crackchat is the general AIM chat room for the game. You can go there to meet other muns, plot, have fun, crack out, whatever!

Just don't ask me what the chat name is, cos I dunno.

The current crackchat is 'thecrackenawakens.' Just join the chat by that name and you'll be in.

I haven't used straight AIM for years now - just clients - so I don't know how you join a chat on it. It'll be in a drop-down menu somewhere, and you can just type the chat name in.

If you're not getting in that way, you need someone to invite you.

Add yourself as a contact on AIM.

Right click on your name; in the list will be "Send Chat Invitation"; click it.

A window will pop up with your name and a randomized chat room name; change the name to the current crack chat; you can check that here in the back room under the tag "where's crackchat at?" or something similar; it's in the sidebar.

Join the chat.

Thanks very much, i've never used AIM before and it's all a bit alien to me.
Is it on my Aim window I do this or do I have to go to an AIM website?

No, you just do everything in your AIM window -- see the plus/minus button? That's how you add yourself to your buddy list. Should be kind of intuitive from there.

I've added myself as a Buddy I'm under friends but I can't seem to get to the chat. When I right click on my name it gives me the option of Buddy Caht but not Send invitation. The Buddy chat is just opening a blank chat window.

Sorry I'm being such an idiot, I just can't seem to get this thing to work.

Okay, are you on a Mac or a Windows machine? If it's a Mac I can't help you.

The name of the crackchat changes every so often, but if you go to the Main Page for the Back Room there's a list of tags on the bottom right hand corner. There you'll find the tag "Where's Crackchat at?"

Click that and the most recent crackchat will be at the top of the page. You may have to be logged in for this to work right.
